If selling Almiron means we can sign Maddison and Pedro, then yeah. If selling him means we only buy Maddison then no. Our squad is too small/shit for a one in one out policy.

Step back, take  a breath and think about that. You'd be against selling Miggy and getting Madison ?

If it means that’s our entire budget gone, yes. Chris Wood is the reason.

We need a striker.

obviously in the ideal world we’ll get both, so it’s all a circumstantial conversation.

I'm not so sure. Which is more important, a back up for Wilson, not even a first team starter possibly or someone to go straight into the starting XI and probably adding goals etc from the off ?

As I say, it’s speculation on what our budget is.

If Wilson is now injured we won’t be signing a Maddison

I don't think we'd be signing Madison even if Wilson was 100% fit.

Not a chance I'd sell him now. He offers far more than any other right-winger we've currently got. He'd make a good understudy to someone like Harrison, if we could achieve a signing like that; but tbh I feel fine with him being first choice if we chose to put our 'attacking addition eggs' into a CM basket. He's improved a lot and might yet continue to.

Everton would be an awful move for him anyway, he needs someone like Howe.

By all accounts we're looking to bring in two with no outgoings. Let's say that's Pedro and CHO. If selling Miggy then meant we could get one of the more exciting targets you'd still be opposed?

Some of these comments are a bit weird about things like how strong or weak is. It’s a shitload stronger than the time last year and was third in the form table second half of the season. That kind of suggests that we’ll do better given a fair wind. We all know it isn’t going to happen overnight. Patience.

No, but my first post explicitly stated I’d be against a one in one out for this, which kinda already answered your question, no?

Not sure why you think we are against more outgoings ?

I must have misread as I would be surprised if we don’t let a few more go.

Yes, should have said two in and no important outgoings. There are lots of players we'd love to get rid of. I'm just not sure if we can.

There might be a few gone on deadline day. We have the cash to let em go cheap to free the wage bill up and free spaces in the squad.

You have to get rid of the "he's playing alright now" mindset.

I love Miggy as much as anyone but if Everton come hoying 30m for him, you sell him. Literally six months ago anyone on here would have snapped their hands off for 15m.

If you are have your recruitment organised, you either find a loan deal to see us through until January or you push through a deal for a long term target like Maddison. It wasn't long ago Miggy was being kept out by Fraser and Murphy.
