Shelveys Hair
Mike Ashley, at this point, has spent probably 6 figures on trying to sell the club. The conspiracy theories are looney tune land. Poor Mike!! He's clearly tried so hard too. 10 years of trying to sell us? Ashley has probably gambled more and lost in a casino than he has on trying to sell the club, he has also just took another £30 million out of the club so I doubt he will be too arsed

And nobody until now has matched his valuation it's not rocket science you know Well, seeing as after 10 years he finally has his valuation met then we can celebrate new owners now can't we? Why do I have a feeling it's not that simple.

We've talked about how there might be a reason why its taken him this long to sell, as in his valuation is unrealistic. We've talked about him inserting clauses in potential takeovers about SD advertisement etc. Now he's suddenly a willing seller who has spent a lot of money trying to get rid of the club for ages. gdm
Mike Ashley has found ways nearly every window over the last few years to not invest while stringing fans along. If he has no intention of selling the club and a buyer comes along, why is it so hard to believe he would string them along to suit his own needs? Its Mike Ashley.. he or whoever represented him already admitted in court they strung fans along during the Keegan saga. I just think it serves no purpose other than getting the fans even more pissed off. Offering Rafa the same terms with minimal investment + not signing the likes of Rondon.. If Rafa leaves people will be mega pissed off. Vs Offering Rafa the same terms with minimal investment + not signing the likes of Rondon because the club is in the process of being "taken over".. Ashley is going to claim his hands were tied. As far as Rafa is concerned if he accepts the contract and we dont get taken over, he is going to be feeling a little foolish and the club will have wasted yet most of another window. A lot of fans heads are in the clouds, so are not really worrying about signing Rondon and some are even dreaming of Mourinho if we get taken over. It’s Ashley’s fault either way
Bimpy474
I don't give two shits what Ashley claims, he is 100% at fault for everything wrong with this club since he took over. To think anything other than that you have to have a fucking screw loose, I'm still amazed fans still fall for it.

Why do I have a feeling it's not that simple. It is that simple and just because you don't think that is your problem. The two previous takovers have not happened because they have not been able to match the value nothing more. You can call Ashley for his lack of investment in the club, his choices of personnel he employed and quite a few other things in the operation of the club. The true point of the matter is nobody matched his value and it's pretty obvious he wasn't going to sell until it had been; and as owner of the club that's totally within his right to do so. Consortium of one
Just an opinion but based on info posted I think this deal is much closer to happening than either Stavely or Kenyon. There have been improvements at the academy level and talk of streamlining our loan system to accentuate player growth. Those are infrastructure moves and would not have been done unless an owner wants to take the club forward. Further, the action on Companies House is more than just "tidying up". BZG feels they have the assets in place to make the purchase. The ball is in Ashley's court and I do think he's motivated to sell. I think a majority of hand wringing is due to Rafa's status. We love the man. If he were still under contract we'd be more patient.

It doesn't matter what the support or other bodies think is the realistic valuation for the club, it's what Ashley as the current owner of the club thinks is realistic. If nobody matches that valuation he won't sell. As I said it's not rocket science.

If I have a car worth about 500 pounds and I'm saying I'll sell it for 5 000 pounds would you say I'm a willing seller trying to get rid of my car? e: Just to be clear the point im disputing is that he has been truthful in his attempts to sell the club. He has had no intention to sell unless someone offered insane money for it. Maybe things have changed now because of his other business interests, who knows. Looks like this company have agreed to the 350 million he was asking for so yes I do think it will make him a willing seller as his valuation has been met. The other two bids did not meet that valuation.
