I'm not sure what we were expecting when you look at his history. If we paid that money for a player who looks good but won't score goals, then he's not doing a lot wrong. If you look at the rest of our squad, Joelinton scored 7 goals last season, ASM scored 6. Think they are the top 2 apart from Gayle? We'll probably end up the lowest scoring team. It's a fair point tbf. He's a goalscorer so he'll get into the sort of positions that Joelinton isn't at the moment. Guest Howaythetoon Posted October 19, 2019 Share Posted October 19, 2019 Gayle might not get you 10-15 goals in the Premier League, but what a player like him gives a team like this is a goal threat and that is a hell of a lot to offer any team lacking in that area even if there are players stronger, quicker, more skilful or whatever.
