gjohnson
Batistuta. Closest player to Shearer I've ever seen
Guest
How about players you really wanted us to sign, with hindsight are pleased we didn’t? I’ll go with James Beattie. Thought around 2003/4ish he was the perfect Shearer replacement in terms of style of play and goals.
Happinesstan
We are talking only players active until end of the 2006/07 season? And after the 1992/93 season.

Guest
I bet a lot of these players we’d have turned to hate if they’d came here like. Either tearing us apart, or moaning at ref all game at SJP, doing us with a dive or something. Adds to the legend that they’re players we see abroad. joeyt
Yeah that was sort of the point I was trying to get at earlier. If Totti joined someone like Man Utd or Chelsea I'd have probably ended up disliking him

Like pretty much what EVERY Man Utd player have done since Ferguson rode in.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Ronaldinho, Figo, Zidane. I think I once read the Chronicle in 1994 just before we signed Ginola that we were going to sign Jean Pier-Papin. Would have been nice it it happened though Daveed did become my first favourite NUFC player. Did we buy Ginola because they fucked us over with George Wreh ? Yes, it was sweetener as we were going to report them. It's also spelt Weah* Cheers, thanks for the feedback. There was a Christopher Wreh who played for Arsenal. Quiztopher Wreh is always a solid team name if ever needed. If someone's already beaten you to it, I'd suggest Quiz Bart-Williams.
