Group C (Austria, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Ukraine)

Although actually, in the case of this group, it really doesn't seem to be necessary to play them at the same time. Neither team can topple the Dutch and North Macedonia can't finish third. It's a straight shootout for second.

Should be protocol to allow us to have Holland vs Pandev as a 2PM hors d'oeuvre. Surprising really that UEFA would give up the chance to squeeze extra TV revenue where they could.

It does seem a bit wild - especially after Italy rested 8 players even though they could have been overhauled by Wales :lol:

Perhaps they see continuity of the XI as more important than rotation.

I'm getting very confused - but I think it's H2H which decides it. GD was only used yesterday as Wales and Switzerland drew.

It goes

points

GD

number of wins

Disciplinary

rankings

Well this is points between the two teams, which is just another way of describing H2H. Goal difference comes in after that.

Quote

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following tie-breaking criteria are applied:[1]

  1. Higher number of points obtained in the matches played between the teams in question;
  2. Superior goal difference resulting from the matches played between the teams in question;
  3. Higher number of goals scored in the matches played between the teams in question;
  4. If, after having applied criteria 1 to 3, teams still have an equal ranking, criteria 1 to 3 are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the teams who are still level to determine their final rankings.[a] If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria 5 to 10 apply;
  5. Superior goal difference in all group matches;
  6. Higher number of goals scored in all group matches;
  7. Higher number of wins in all group matches;

Don't want to show the absolutely hideous nature of their stand by players. The lads who've come in are the ones that have been coming on as sub anyway.

Peter Walton is absolutely fucking useless “As it stands the goal will stand but the referee may want to look at it”

He must be annoyed at ITV’s strategy about going to him before a decision has been made as when he is on BT they only go to him post decision which he agrees with.

Every.Fucking.Time.
