nufcjmc Posted Friday at 09:57 Share Posted Friday at 09:57 (edited) Training ground sponsor when the long term goal to move is a harder sell and maybe adidas would have to be included in discussions for training kit sponsor if they have no desire to put more in the pot and do it themselves. I like you have no idea if it's too long or just right. It's been debated already but the city "fight back" may change policy and we don't want to locked in but it just seems to me like it's a missed opportunity and income we won't get back in the 3 years of not having it. SUPERTOON Posted Friday at 10:03 Share Posted Friday at 10:03 9 minutes ago, The Prophet said: Aye, it was about a year ago. He basically said it's quite complex. They don't want to lock themselves into a deal that doesn't work for all parties or put a value on a sponsorship that doesn't max out our potential (paraphrasing). I'm far from an expert in the field, so no idea if that stands up to scrutiny or not. You would think doing short term (season long) deals would still be possible. Famous Nick Posted Friday at 10:03 Share Posted Friday at 10:03 I wish this whole Saudi league stuff would go away. they put incredible money into, latest is salary of Inzaghi is like 3-4x higher than what he was on Inter, also now its tax free, this is just not going anywhere imo. I cannot see people start to watch Saudi league in large numbers. With C. Ronaldo soon finishing there, I think general interest will die down, he was the main hype factor imo around it. Instead of that they should focus on Newcastle and try to see City and PSG as examples in terms of results. Qatar and UAE are small players compared to Saudi Arabia. luckily for those two clubs they didnt care about making Qatar league and UAE league much more than it is... Of course PSR is huge block ahead of us but seemingly there are loopholes we should explore instead of watching rivals explore it (Chelsea) and completely get away with it. With our CL status for next season new line of sponsors should be coming in too, both Saudi and non-Saudi ones. there arent even legal rules around APT now imo with how City proved the whole thing is a mess and illegal. now would be the time imo to make some deals even if look bit overpriced. we need to strike while iron is hot, we cannot allow not getting CL end of next season, as then we need to sell top players and we are back to square one. They are perfectly entitled to spend their money on their own league rather than European teams tbh, whether it will be a success or not is not really for us to worry about. I just wish they would stop chucking money at PL players which seems to be benefitting all our rivals far more than us.

Unbelievable
On 06/06/2025 at 11:33, SUPERTOON said: What Howe achieved this season under the circumstances has saved them from some deserved question and criticism imo. I disagree. Howe is their appointment for starters. They also sanctioned the players we got in. These people didn't come here by accident and were courted and supported by the club 100% when people in the media were expecting us to build a gallaticos 2.0 side due to untold riches. Howe and the players got us the cup and CL qualification, so it stands to reason to praise the owners for their football acumen and patience, rather than to fantasise about scenarios in which they would have deserved questioning and criticism. They have their hands behind their backs and still have us punching at a level most of us couldn't even contemplate as realistic three years ago, even regardless of ownership change. With Saudi now committed to building 10 brand-new stadiums and expanding 4 others for the 2034 World Cup, could that explain why PIF is delaying investment in a new stadium for us? No one is saying they’re delaying investment.
