What about literally every single other signing he's made?

That's the problem, when you want the manager gone you just focus on the poor signings, not Isak, Bruno, Botman, Hall, Tino, and the job Burn, Tripps, Pope and others have done in the first couple of seasons (i must have missed someone). I suppose as we've been poor, that's not a surprise.

Because people don’t want to hold Howe responsible for our poor season so far.

This is a fair point. I'm definitely behind Eddie still, but he has to take responsibility. The major thing for me is his lack of changing system, it almost always 4-3-3, and when we play poorly as far as i recall, we've gone 4-4-2 and it's not worked.  I wish he would be more flexible, especially in game. I fear ultimately that will be his downfall if we don't evolve and tweak things, i hope not obviously.

It's the double-edged sword of amortisation.

We sign Isak for £65m, but only £13m of that goes on the books for that season (assuming a 5 year deal). That's where the whole "sell £20m worth of players and you could spend £100m replacing them because of amortisation!"

The downside is that £13m is going to be on the next years books too. And the one after that. And so on.

The amortisation of every player we've signed since the takeover is still being taken into account, so even though we haven't spent much, the money we did spend is still affecting our PSR position.

Just Botman, Bruno, Tonali, Isak, Gordon and Barnes is roughly (very roughly) £55m/year plus wages

The grim part is that we're not getting out of that anytime soon, it will still be maxed out in the windows after that unless we start selling. And sticking with the same team every season obviously doesn't work, especially when our squad is this old. Our players of value are mostly just the purples, hence why selling a purple seems more and more like something that just has to be done if we want to evolve..

Nope...accountants have made it indecipherable to see what is actually available. Best move we could do is hire Chelsea's financial guys at any cost, and give them the first job to hide what they cost us, then work out a deal to sell Newcastle race course to us, then pass it back to the Ruben's while working out  how we keep the profits...then when they'd sussed that giving us a 6bn profit, find some obscure law that shows we own the Tyne Bridge and are allowed to charge a tenner for every kilo that passes over it.

Then figure out how Leazes Terrace actually impinges on St James right to light and either charge them by the second, or order their brick by brick move to Beamish

So , they lied to us ? ( Mitchell Eales and Howe )

Thats some 4D chess

Barely even Ludo let alone chess in any dimension...It's admirable in some ways that you think a manager and DoF would actually be honest about how much money is available to spend

They said that our bid was way lower than the £60m reported. On top of that the reports say that we were going to sell in jan or june again to make up for it.

Yep where has the £70M for Guehi disappeared to ?

Unfortunately playing trading is now essential the Ashley era of nil spending "war chest" is gone the easy upgrades to sponsors have been made and are already needed for all that previous spending which up until the summer involved under 40m worth of selling.

If we have of spent 60m in the summer while it didn't need 60m of players to be sold as explained about the cost of the player being spaced over the length of the contract from a book keeping prospective  it still would have  needed players to leave.

I think its ok Eddie telling white lies to the press re who is fit and available for a game ( not that it seems to have helped us win any  games recently )

Lying to the fans about seriously wanting  to buy Geuhi is a different matter altogether .

That is unforgivable ( if true )

I think it is true that EH wanted Geuhi. I think it's also true that he knew we would never be able to sign him.

I shudder to think what suspect moves we would have had to make to actually get him here given whatever we did that landed us with an 85m third/forth choice Greek keeper

Be careful what you wish for cos according to betting sites  Brendon rogers is favourite to take over.

Just couldn’t see that happening. Mitchell would be looking abroad, I think.

Saying this, I don’t think the board are even contemplating sacking Howe.

This is the lineup for the next Tottenham manager. You’d assume we’d be fishing in the same stream these days unless Mitchell has other ideas. Pochettino and Mourinho wouldn’t be anywhere near as long for us obviously.

Brendan Rodgers 5/2

Erik Ten Hag 8/1

Thomas Frank 8/1

Graham Potter 10/1

Gareth Southgate 12/1

Marco Silva 12/1

Andoni Iraola 14/1

Kieran McKenna 14/1

Michael Carrick 14/1

Roberto De Zerbi 14/1

Xavi 14/1

Diego Simeone 16/1

Eddie Howe 16/1

Julian Nagelsmann 16/1

Max Allegri 18/1

Maurizio Sarri 20/1

Michel 20/1

Lee Carsley 22/1

David Moyes 25/1

Mauricio Pochettino 25/1

Unai Emery 33/1

Jose Mourinho 100/1

Antonio Conte 250/1

there is 0 chance of this happening. Rogers has major issues working with a sporting director, not a chance Mitchell puts himself in that position again.

According to Bruce he was the one who told the owners to go for Eddie. We should call Bruce to get some more advice.

Then he said that fella from Bournemouth who got a team relegated.
