Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season

Recommended Posts

Encouraging hearing Howe basically saying we're in a good position for the summer market. I certainly wasn't expecting that, as he has always been super cautious in the past. For the first time in about four windows, it's not going to be the usual frustration this time me thinks.

I just hope Howe plays a key role in who comes in - I know that in the modern game, DoF (or whatever their title) fulfil that role, but Howe’s signings have been incredibly successful - Brian Clough once talked about transfer policy being about successes outweighing failures.  I can’t imagine that there are many managers with Howe’s ‘hit rate’ re successes - I can only really think of Targett’s permanent move (he was a success on loan) as being a definite ‘miss’ to date.

Forest only side in top 13 we've beaten away :D

Been clean sweep against the actual shit sides, but there's still so much more need to improve on away which hopefully the new signings take us up that level.

In some ways he was unlucky today after that amazing first half, in others I wonder what the fuck he says or does to them at half time for them to come out at a level so far below where they were 15 minutes previously yet again.

We'll do it next week, he won't let us miss out.

in the league at least of course. Howe ran circles around the shithead in the symbolically most important away game to Arsenal.

I didn’t realise that - that needs work next season

Yeah been a great season so far (and hopefully even better next Sunday), but we need to improve our away form against teams in the top half of the table. Also as has been mentioned elsewhere, there is a number of times when our second half performance has dropped. Hopefully we can rectify this in the summer, as the standard of the majority of players we have on the bench this season, are not of the required level to change games when needed.

I saw an interview with Bruno the other day with him talking about being knackered and playing through injuries.  Not Howe’s fault - a lot of this is the remaining hangover of the previous ownership - and I completely agree, it’s something which it is reasonable to expect to be fixed if we sign three or four good players in the summer

PSR obviously also, that's why it's important we get champions league football.
