Didn't think the starting xi was the wrong decision.

You could see the game plan and if for better passing and finishing could have been a different story

Nar I would have went with Woltamade and Gordon on the left and gone for early goals.

100% was the wrong decision, the three upfront had 0 goal contributions this season between them until Gordon scored, our best chance was to get a goal early on before they settle in the game as it would be very hard to match them for quality and experience at this level.

Our best chance to was to press them early and exploit their high line. Gordon gave us a greater chance of doing that.

Nick will be great, but he's still learning the system and building up his fitness.

Yeah replacing Woltemade for Gordon doesn't automatically mean we'd have scored one of our early chances

Thought he got it spot on tonight. We had the better chances before their goal thanks to his tactics, not his fault Barnes and Gordon couldn't score. And no, those same chances probably doesn't come about if Woltemade starts.

Would've kept Elanga on for longer though, unless he was fucked.

Howe is between a rock and a hard place. Pressing and hitting Barca on the break was key to his gameplan. He probably doesn't think Woltemade can press as intensely as we need so he's started Gordon who can press. It hasn't came off because he's poor centrally.

It hasn't came off because we didn't take our chances, but he's missing Wissa, a striker absolutely built for tonight's plan.

Finishing doesn't exist with that front 3.

Won't play Osula had a chance to sell, but didn't want to, yet won't play him as we needed a striker and no time to buy a third.Players defence wise.getting older, won't play younger ones, needs to rethink his options of old v young or favs v new players.

I think a lot of people are missing that the chances being created in the first half were a direct result of the pressure the front 3 created.

They didn't take advantage but I don't think there was anything wrong with the approach and there's definitely no guarantee starting Woltemade would have led to chances.

At the end of the day, they are one of the favorites for the whole competition and the margin for error is tiny and while it's disappointing I thought most of them did well.
