I love Eddie Howe very much, but to be honest were aren't much better than we've been for years. Bang average if you were honest?

SBR did a lot better with a lot less talent. Just sayin.

There’s already a stunning amount of complacency and entitlement in the stadium.

22/23 was class, but as ever we're only ever a bad run away from fans beginning to turn on him.

If I were you I'd probably have left out the Palace and Bournemouth comment from @The College Dropout, Bournemouth and Palace can be a pain for us.[emoji38]

It’s the sad truth, credit in the bank never actually goes very far in football. To many are on such an emotional knife edge all the time [emoji38]

Saved from relegation, 2 CL campaigns and a trophy but only ever 5/6 games away from your head being called for. Who’d be a manager?

He has become such a part of the fabric of the club and our identity. I think people calling for his head really dont get the effect of him leaving would have. Doing it during the season could be disastrous.

yesterday was the first time I got really annoyed with Howe

I think everyone could see the sending off coming after the first let off - I was shouting at the screen way before it happened

he took off Thiaw when he got booked at Bournemouth and we got a good point

given that Burn was struggling at left back this seemed a no brainer

lack of height with Hall granted, but also countered by the balance and attacking threat he offers

disappointing but he's still got loads of credit in the bank for me and I hope he's fully backed by the fans and ownership for a long time to come

this is what has irritated me so much.  It's been going on since the beginning. It was going on under Rafa. It'll apparently continue no matter what happens. It's a little more passive aggressive, but it's still there. It's not about valid critiques. There have been plenty. And it does my head in to see Burn at left back, or that we are perpetually slow starters. And often we either look like we could beat Real Madrid, or lose to a 3rd division team. Posters like TCD have articulated on some of the problems cogently. As I've said before, I have a lot issues with Steve Kerr's decisions at the Warriors. But both coaches have given us success that we haven't seen in decades (I hope Eddie can end up reaching half the heights of Kerr's success though).

I think I’ve been consistent in my comments about him. I like Howe, I really do. I want him to be a success here as am sure all of you do too.

The writing has been on the wall all season though, we’re in a decline. The European fixtures have been a nice distraction but I just think overall the PL is a tougher competition, aside from those elite teams.

Something is amiss. Maybe it was the Isak situation and how the players felt about it privately. But something is different. Our output is way lower, the press isn’t there anymore which is basically his fucking identity as a manager.

Has he just run them into the ground and this season is the burnout?

All I read here is our strong home form.. really? We scraped a win against 2 point Wolves. A win against Ange and barely got the win against Fulham. It’s nowhere near as good as what people are saying.

We do have a good squad here and it’s very much underachieving. If the players are just burnt out and jaded by the same tactics, why is it heresy to suggest that a change might do the club some good?

At the end of the day, PIF will decide if they feel like their investment is in the wrong hands. We can’t continue on the growth path we are by sliding down the league and not getting Champions League next season, the repercussions are massive.

We have to accept that we won't be in the Champions League every season. Pretty much only City, Liverpool and Arsenal have that guarantee at the moment.

If form doesn't pickup the Mackem game could be the end of Howe. Man City, Everton away and we never get anything in those, Spurs at home and Burnley at home before that game. Can see maybe 3 or 4 points from that and then if we get beat at the dark place no one will be backing Howe or the players. Genuinely think we are in a relegation battle at this point, we look horrific and not sure what's going to change other than preying Tino and Wissa back soon.  I know this seems dramatic but we have been dreadful and disjointed in every game pretty much and don't look confident at all.

This isn't the team that finished 5th and won a cup last season and it looks stale, boring and no attacking intent.

We won't be in the league at this rate, we are worse than just about every team. We got battered at West Ham, struggled against Wolves, struggled at Leeds. Whatever quality we have hasn't shown

Would take a crack at the Europa personally. Think we would be one of the favourites to win it in its current format.

I know it leaves us vulnerable to losing our most prized assets, but just being consistently in the mix for any form of European football (and domestic cup honours) should make for a worthwhile existence as a football club. The league title is basically impossible and routine qualification for the Champions League can't be expected.

Assuming we stabilise and improve, there's nothing to stop us gunning for those positions, and if 6th/7th becomes the highest possible finishing position, we need to be okay with that fact, and equally okay if we miss out somewhat narrowly. If we're miles off then we can probably look at the situation more sternly.

The league is really competitive; even clubs like Brighton and Brentford - who couldn't give a shiny shite about anything other than existing on the gravy train - obstruct straightforward passage to European places.

Are we though, I just don't see how we improve. We could be looking at 4 points max from next 6 or 7 games taking us up to xmas, maybe 6 points at a push,  That's 18 points from 18 games, not great and don't see how we beat City, Everton, Spurs (In league), Mackems, Man U or Chelsea playing like this.

22-23 is definitely the best season in my memory too, even better than Keegan's early seasons tbh. The momentum we had, the way we dominated games, the energy we played with, and that feeling of "we're actually fucking back" after being a shell of a club for so long was unreal. With the added sense that we were going places as a club with the takeover still fresh, it just felt magic and like the start of an era.

Agreed - I think everyone enjoyed watching us for that season.

Don’t see how we improve? Do you genuinely look at what Howe has achieved here and how he’s come back from poor spells and think, “ah, we’re just shit now and that’s it”. You’re just making stuff up now to make yourself feel shit, take a break

Suppose we are too good to go down ? I just don't see it, we have been utterly horrible and don't appear to have the fight or know how to play anymore

It's a bad run of form. It'll get turned around.
