When have we been very good? Liverpool second half aside. You’re just making things up now.

You've claimed I've been a broken record before, and rightfully so. But here you are again basically posting the same exact shit every season. All we need is for you to bring up James Maddison again.

I'd be furious if we sacked him. Almost guaranteed to take us backwards. Give him time and he'll sort it.

If we finish midtable and do alright in the cups then I'm fine with that and don't think it'd lead to much more of an exodus than if we got into the CL. Sandro and Tino are the worries and if they are wanted by a team that'll pay the money then one or both of them might go either way.

Howe has over-achieved pretty consistently so it's really annoying seeing the same old chancers on here using that as a stick to beat him with if there's a slump. Patience is needed, we'll crack it.

Unless we are in a real relegation battle (very unlikely) then there is zero point in replacing him imo. Especially if we are still doing well in the cups.

I mean I agree there would be no point in doing so and I never stated as such. I do think however that the strength of feeling/momentum could sway things that way. Hopefully not.

But c'mon it won't take a minor miracle to get into some form. It's been achieved so far every season under him.

I don't believe just because it's happened before it'll just happen again. Would be nice if it did though and would love to see it. Eddie's smart and easily a top 5 manager, but I do think that this is the toughest spot he's been in factoring in everything going on with the team and it could go either way.

I’m sure we were 6th in the XG table before Sunday, so it’s not all doom and gloom.

I don’t think we’ve been very good at any point this season or indeed the latter part of last with the exception of that half I’ve mentioned. I don’t think that’s remotely controversial - in fact your head would fall off if you were here to hear what your average fan has said over the past day and a bit. Can only assume your definition of very good is different to mine.

I’ve doubted Howe previously but he always solves the puzzle and gets us back on track. Previous poor runs have been much worse than this, we are performing well in the cups and still look strong at SJP. We’ve got a particular issue away from home. Not helped by some key injuries (Wissa, the FBs) and we look a bit stale. The Burn sending off and the lack of the early subs was annoying but no one will be beating themselves up about it more than Howe. We can turn things round and it doesn’t take long to push up the table. It’s all to play for.

We haven't been good this season. But c'mon The "latter part of last season" is doing a bit of heavy lifting because it was really only the last few games. Some go back to 4 or 5 games, but that puts us near the end of April.

We were also pretty dog shit for the first 11 or so games last season, barring Forest away. Hence why this feels like Groundhog Day.

It's happened nearly every time he's been here, and often twice a season. The Bournemouth fan warned us that we would see major streaks with him. I've mentioend before that I don't want to fall into the gambler's fallacy and assume that it will happen again. But these aren't random events, and he seems to have continually done this throughout much of his coaching career for some reason. It's not a major gamble at all to predict that it will happen again this season.

Just don’t really like the insinuation there’s an agenda. I’ve made it clear how I feel about the manager and most of the players. I’m not in favour of the OTT criticism or the denial or how far off it we’ve been.

Did I ever insinuate that there's an agenda?

It would demonstrate to me how flawed XG is honestly.

I heard somewhere (can't remember if it was TV or radio) that between XG and whatever the defense rating is, we should have been 5th before yesterday. Don't disagree with your sentiment like.

He's got just under 2 weeks to get things analysed as much as poss and pinpoint where we are going wrong.

I'm not sure if it is a good thing or not that our next game is City. They are in cracking form at the moment, and well, we're not. Yes we are at home and we tend to go better at SJP, but given how low on confidence we seem, we cannot let them get out the blocks early in the game otherwise it might not be a great evening.

I think it’s easy to forget some of the gilt edged chances we’ve missed in some matches tbh. The Fulham game alone Bruno should’ve scored 5.

Some facts:

Score more than the opposing team and you win.

Score the same as the opposing team and you draw.

Score less than the opposing team and you lose.

3 points for a win.

1 point for a draw.

0 points for a loss.

Play each opposing team in the league twice.

More points you accumulate compared to opposing teams, the higher up the table you go.

Team with the most points at the end of the season wins the league.

Fuck xG.

I’m pretty certain we aren’t going down but things could get slightly worse before they get better again looking at the fixtures.

It’s going to take cool heads and the match going fan base to really rally behind the club. I do think with our backs to the wall the support will rally behind Howe and the team in upcoming games.

I’m not confident as some in here that he’ll turn this around completely, the boom and bust cycle certainly needs addressing and as much as I expect him to steady the ship, I would also not be surprised if he ran out of steam and ideas like happened at Bournemouth.

In the future it will be that the team with the highest xG gets 3p. Mark my words.

As always, xG is just a stat used for making observations about trends and performances. I don't know why you always criticise it as if people are equating it with stuff like goals and points. Honestly man, just embrace xG and its whole inoffensive existence.

We've been poor and he has to take a huge chunk of blame for that, though think there have been some situations out of his control (The Rat doing what he did and then the injuries to both full backs, especially Tino as he can play both sides)

However, we've seen this before with Howe, people panic, they write him off, say he's reached his limit and then he makes them look like mugs. I've no doubt the same will happen again. And in the future the very people made to look like mugs won't learn.
