There were many reasons we lost that but you can’t deny Eddie not reacting to their dominance was poor management. It was an obvious momentum shift that needed countering. Why wait until they’ve equalised to do something about it?!

The defensive slip was really unfortunate and we created enough chances to win it, but if we’re discussing all the reasons we didn’t come away with 3 points, the above is a legitimate inclusion.

How do you know subs makea positive impact? If u know for certain, please join coaching staff

Pfft, it's good in the way of perfect stuff. Thank fuck we have a manager who is able to challenge these teams. It's taken an inch perfect free kick from 30 yards and a defensive slip. Teams are going to have spells in games particularly with Chelsea's quality who only had Caicedo from their midweek game. It was the tempo that needed slowing down much more than personnel changes as we allowed the game to become too open. If players had finished the chances they had nobody even says shit about the manager. It's just asinine.

Because the wingers were visibly gassed, the CMs were visibly gassed and Wolte didn’t touch the ball for about 15 minutes. Something needed to change, then they equalised. Brought on fresh legs and the momentum shifted back in our favour. It’s not that I’m a world class coach, I just have eyes that work.

The team have been playing poorly since the league cup final bar a couple of bright spots. It’s insane to say we can’t ask what’s going on and question the manager. Like it or not we’ve set expectations now that we’ll be aiming for Europe (and hopefully the Champions league conversation) every season. Current form suggests we’ve regressed to a mid-table team with some serious heart/confidence issues. Of course question's should be asked of the manager. I’m not suggesting he should be fired now, but we should be seriously planning for a change in the summer if this continues. Yes he’s been brilliant for the club, but we’ve been poor without any real answers for a long time now. I expect us to throw games away every week now, it doesn’t feel like he’s taking us forwards anymore.

VAR fucked us today. The only criticism that can be levelled at Howe is if he doesn't call it out. Can you imagine if you're a player and put in that performance against 12 men and your manager says nothing about the ref or VAR? Others like Slot and Arteta moan about the slightest thing, or even nothing. Maresca will probably be the more vocal of the two managers despite being handed a point by officials.

You have to factor in how defensively frail we’ve been lately. That will affect confidence in a big way. They score one and the balance changes significantly, physically and mentally. Of course they’re going to have spells but when the spell is so dominant and lasts as long as it did, react! Quicker!

This is getting boring now. Being told you're wrong isn't silencing you like.

@Vinny Green Balls it's still happening.

At the end of the day, we all want him to succeed and take us forwards but questions do have to be asked.

I've never been a fan of Chelsea's approach of constantly rotating managers.

Way too diplomatic there. Probably a bit harsh expecting him to swear at Jules Breach but it'd have made me feel better at least

Fuck that, call her a daft cow, Eddie.

If you were confident we were winning that at HT, then you weren’t in the same pub as me.   There’s a mentality problem in the squad and Howe needs to sort it quickly.  First half we looked like what I think a Howe NUFC side looks like - second half was what we’re becoming.

Overall was a very good performance, just think we should have done our usual subs at 60 mins. Big Nick looked knackered, use the bench for another fresh injection of energy given the game was swaying their way. Regardless, that was much more like our old selves.

If people are blaming the manager for that result then they are thick as castle walls.

But that’s not what’s happening. People are frustrated by a common theme of a lack of proactivity and some of his in game management lacking. Hardly demanding his resignation.

Should have made subs before half time. The side that were out there dealt werll with the threat and Chelsea's best chances in the second half came after the subs.

Way too reactive and waits too long to make changes.

It's a very common theme for a long time now and really want him to improve that part of his management.

Bizarre post.

Brexit and Reform (neither of which I'd vote for btw) actually owed a lot to the "anyone who disagrees with me about anything is a knuckle dragging bigot" arrogant mindset you're displaying here.

Agreed, I thought we looked way more open and likely to concede post subs. Although that clearly doesn't fit certain narratives.
