you are arguing in bad faith at this point by changing the goalposts. Ben never claimed he wasnt'. He was referring to others who we missed.

No not really. I just find it a bit odd to suggest Mbeumo was a clear first choice when we were after Elanga for a long time. Ramsey was first choice. Guehi I agree..

Must be then..

Anyone that was glued to the transfer window in the summer knows that basically everyone reported that our first choice was Mbeumo but that it was clear he'd chosen Man United.

You can argue that it was unrealistic or that the alternatives weren't up to scratch, which I think is fair, but saying that Elanga and Thiaw were our number one targets for those positions doesn't stack up.

No point, by now it is clear chasing the same targets as the cartel clubs is going to end in nothing but time wasted and frustration for us after they sign for them

Hope we unearth some gems in the summer from outside this league

I remember this same point being made last summer as well. No harm in aiming high but we seemed to get used by some players just to flush out bids from clubs they'd rather go to. We just need to catch on a bit quicker and move on.

you are still ignoring what Ben said overall just to nitpick. It seems clear to be bad faith at this point.

But with regard to Muembo, it was widely reported that we wanted him, but he snubbed us early on.

I agree on Thiaw, but the Elanga one is open.

Or have a DoF capable of getting it done quickly, like Ashworth did with Tonali.

IIRC, the media were briefed that we were after Barella while we got the Tonali deal done.

Was also Chuna noise but not close to those three admittedly. Shame we can’t match wages.

What’s the difference between being on the fence and unhappy but willing to give more time?

In one option you're on the fence, in the other you're unhappy but willing to give more time.

Happy enough, but I do indeed have some grimes.

that's where I'm at. Happy with him, but there are areas where I'd like to see him improve. I suppose I'm more accurately in between the top 2. Eddie is the man, but I have some gripes.

on the fence should be below it i suppose

On the fence is neither happy nor unhappy IMO, maybe you're in that category if your opinion changes with each match, like most of the forum.

In this context, on the fence would normally suggest that you are not sure whether he should be sacked or not.

The question is whether you're happy with him, not whether you want him sacked.

I’d bet my bile duct that Tonali got done quickly because Milan knew he was staring down the barrel of a long ban.
