Can't imagine being this miserable.

You can gush with pride at a 7-2 humiliation and being slayed my Fulkrug if you want.

Hounding out is harsh

It’s not. It’s beyond “I don’t know I’m just asking questions” and a lot of y’all are very much in the hounding out phase. It’s shit pub talk all over the shop in here.

See the positives in going toe to toe with a quality team for 3 halves of football, before our legs fell off.

Or pride seeing us lift a bit of silverware just over 12 months ago, something which is unheard of.

Funnily enough, this thread is full of similar takes when he was first linked with us after the takeover.

And I'm pretty sure hhere was a Bournemouth supporter who came on and prophetically laid out pretty much the exact trajectory and issues we've seen.

I see positives in the three great CL performances against PSG and the home leg against Barca, but absolutely nothing in the Nou Camp. That’s the same

ridiculous argument that some were trying to push that we were brilliant for 35min at Anfield.

I love Eddie. I’m 42 and he’s the best manager we’ve had in my life time, but I’m not going to throw all logic out of the window and go all fanboy about him. The club comes first as it always should. Good things come to an end. The only question should be is he the man to be in charge for the huge turn around the squad needs in the summer and build something new after such a lacklustre 12 months.

Thing is, he didn't. If you read that post, which was reposted yesterday, only a little bit of it lines up with what we're seeing now. It's also a bit mad to me that it's still brought up when we all have our own 5 years of lived experience with Howe.

Considering he has come back each and every time there has been a setback.  Yes he is.

If we ever win the league and start the following season slowly.

He hasn’t though. We’re getting worse as the season is going on, not better. The last three performances are almost as bad as they come. We’ve lost nearly half of our games.

We literally have though, when we went through a very, very bad patch in the first season of champions League football, as soon as we returned to one game a week and players returned from injury, and able to actually train again. Our form totally transformed and looked bad to our best.

Fully expect that to return in some form for the remainder of the season.  And if it doesn't, he still deserves the summer to freshen up this team.

I know we might be heading to a natural conclusion to his time here and we've been pretty abject this season but he's still Eddie fucking Howe, the man who brought home a cup and righted this ship, put some respect on this man's name you turbo naysayers.

This is what most were expecting and why the Palace game was such a kick in the balls.

And clearly it's now time to rebuild the team, that's something you have to decide on who should do that.

Eddie or who ?  I think Eddie has earnt the right to rebuild the team, and why wouldn't we want to see what players will come in now Wilson has his first summer to do that.

I actually think this summer will be exciting, and early too. Unlike the last god know how many years.

Yes I know, I expected it too.

First half was reassuring and were playing some really good stuff at the end of it.

Second half, terrible.  Needs to work on whatever is going wrong with this pattern.

And we’d be level on points with first place if we hadn’t dropped all those late late points we have this season.

It hasn’t been pretty or easy on the eye but it’s been real close to another great season under Howe.

say GIF

We’d be home & hosed as league champions if we’d won every league game we’ve played this season.

But we haven’t. And we’re not.

An intelligent, young, hardworking, articulate, English, cup winning manager, who gets the very best out of his players and plays front footed football, would be of interest to many top teams.

Eddie has taken a very small team to the top half of the PL table and us from relegation fodder to the CL + one domestic cup.
Liverpool are trying to compete with the elite teams in Europe. If you're their Chief Exec, I don't think you take a risk on a manager who has never managed at their level, hasn't won leagues elsewhere, hasn't competed regularly in the CL and hasn't proven he can attract the best players in the world. They're literally going to be picking from the top 4-5 best managers in the world not taking a risk on someone who MIGHT be good enough. I might be wrong but I don't see him being on their radar.

I love Eddie but take your Newcastle hats off, if Arne Slot was available you wouldn't want him at Newcastle so I don't get why you think Liverpool would want Howe.

Let's be honest Liverpool will be after Alonso and Arsenal would be after Fabragas if they wanted a change.

They appointed Slot.  Who won a farmers league before he joined them.

Anyone of our CL games against PSG, the best team in Europe at the moment, would demonstrate that he's more than capable of tactically going toe to toe with the best around, on the biggest stage.

Howe would get a bigger job than us.  If he were to leave now or the summer.

Everything ends badly otherwise it wouldn't end, fact is since he came we've probably spent in the top 25% of the league yet this season we may be one place of finishing in the bottom 25%. He's been a great manager but no fucker should be getting on the backs of people whose having doubts after this season and his inability the last time we were in the CL to juggle both.

But the fact that he's bounced back and has rebuilt this squad once before, even winning a cup just last year

Should be enough reassurance that we have the right man for the job, there should be enough credit in the bank.  Especially when consider what happened in the summer.

Too many members in here just settling for mediocrity and watching the club slowly go back to the way it was before the Saudis took over the club.

Just accepting losses to dross home and away, accepting piss poor football and terrible man management of assets at the club,

All because he won us a cup.

Imagine if city just went to the first manager that got champions league and a cup victory that'll do we cannot do any better.

If you arrived home early from work and Eddie Howe had your lass bent over the kitchen bench and was scuttling her from behind with a can of your best beer in one hand and as you walked in on the scene he looked you dead in the eye without breaking rhythm and said “I’ve ordered an Uber Eats on your account because I’ll be proper hungry when I’ve finished this” you’d give him a round of applause wouldn’t you
