Why does everyone assume that when our injured players are back there won't be any other injuries that drag on longer than a wet weekend?

Yes we'll have Wilson, Willock, Murphy potentially back evetually but nowts saying Botman, Bruno and Isak wont be crocked at the same time. Our medical team are dogshit and we won't EVER have a full strength squad/bench this season.

The other thing is that Wilson will never actually be "back" in a normal sense. He's injured in a semi-permanent sort of way.

I don't understand how some people proper buzz at just getting angry. Must be a miserable existence. We were canny high up in the form table a month and a half ago or whatever. But now we're a shit team and a shit squad with a shit manager. What a strange anti fantasy world people choose to live in.

Robbed against PSG, decimated by injury, unlucky errors or mistakes to lose us a couple of important games. Small margins which would flip everything on it's head. All seems quite easy to understand. But nah, at least we have the "tell it like it is" folk to tell people exactly how it fucking isn't and dump their stinking excrement in front of everyone then bitch and whine when people tell them they're dumping excrement.

Boggles my mind.

It's not implausible that the injuries never clear up in totality, but in the second half of the season we are playing significantly fewer games with longer breaks in-between; that's a far better context for returning players to alleviate the pressure on those who are 'fit'. Hopefully we're going into the run-in with plenty availability.

Hauled before N.O again for not beating and being second best to the best team in the world with a threadbare squad and financial limitations.

He gets the rest of this season and next season imo. If after players are brought in in the summer (and this month) and we faulter next season then I think they’ll start looking at other options.

Saying he gets the whole of next season regardless of results in the next 18 months is absurd, mind. No manger should be afforded that amount of time with carte blanche unless they’re Pep or Ancelotti. I love Eddie but he hasn’t proved or even suggested he’s anywhere near that level on his best day.

To his eternal credit Howe has never resorted to excuses, he's kept expecting to win doesn't matter which side he puts out. In the long term that will look a lot better than it has after the last couple of months.

Just like post-Liverpool, there's no new conclusions to be made about the manager. The odds were massively stacked against us tonight, just as they were in New Year's Day; we weren't equipped to collect any points from those two games. Maybe one at a stretch.

It sounds a bit small-time, but the important thing was that we saw a marked improvement in our performance and we didn't take a fresh sledgehammer to the confidence.

The seapn almost starts afresh end of the month. Some time off, hopefully a few players back and maybe even some signings. I think some of the fans need a break too ?

Let him have an average season, he's been fucking immense the last 2 years and hamstrung by injuries. It will all come good, just going to take a bit of time.

We may finish mid table this season but need to give Eddie next season as well. We overachieved last year.

Another game that we made close to no sub, ran everyone on the ground and end up zero point.

Lost to Man City is not a problem. Ran everyone to the ground again is.

Clearly he gets the rest of this season, but if this run of form was to follow at the start of next season, let’s not kid ourselves he’ll be out the door.

I’m not as certain. If we have a nightmare run of three more losses in the upcoming games against Luton, Forest and Bournemouth, it will become quite desperate.

They brought on De Bruyne at 60 mins and we brought on Hall at 70, says enough really. Great effort tonight.

Should have brought Hall on to man mark De Bruyne.

We have a two week break after this game so there was no reason to protect legs, if we had good options on the bench he would no doubt have used them

Assuming we don't pick up any more injuries then the players that are fit should be in a position to go again

After the last 2 week break we beat PSG, Man U and were robbed a win away to PSG, all with the same set of players

We really need 2-3 of the injured players back and/or some signings
