The squad desperately needs a refresh which we haven’t been able to do. He’s not above criticism but everything in context, he’s still performing well imo. Keep the faith For our league season not to be deemed a failure I think he has just about his toughest challenge to date to be honest. 5th / 6th is there for the taking but we just consistently look out of ideas, one dimensional and vulnerable at home. mouldy_uk
Pretty hit and miss this season, however, if he wins the cup then all will be forgiven and people will be tugging themselves raw at his greatness. I’d love to see him given a decent squad to show what he can really do
TRon
3 minutes ago, AyeDubbleYoo said: You could argue that shows how limited the tools we have are though. If we had more than a handful of top players, we might not see that inconsistency so much. I don't think it's the losses against the top clubs which draws criticism though. It's when teams with less resources get the better of us. That's why the league is more important for me, don't think it's fair to expect a cup win against Liverpool, however negative that sounds. christ
6 minutes ago, TheBrownBottle said: Yes, I also think that he might need European football to keep his position. I don’t think we’d be able to get rid of that many players as we’d need to replace all of them. It would be crazy not to sell at least one ‘purple’ this summer, mind. It’s holding us back. I think he’s safe as houses personally. The position he’s been put in has been absolutely shit. Yet he had us qualified for Europe last season until Man City didn’t turn up at Wembley, and he’s got us in a cup final and competing for the CL yet again this season. What Howe has done has been outrageous. He’s saved the club from a whole heap of shit by keeping us competitive while they try to run down the clock on our PSR issues. Any ‘name’ manager would be acting the cunt every single day about lack of signings etc. Unless our form absolutely craters and we end up comfortably midtable I don’t think he’s under any pressure. It was quite obvious those tactics today do not work, ;as they weren't for quite a few of the games recently . You're at home playing Brighton in the 5th round of the cup and with what should be an excellent chance to move to the quarter finals, take the game to them from the off, put the pressure on them, instead of allowing them to walk literally at will into our end of the pitch. He started those tactics (wrongly), but yet again no sign whatsoever of in game management or an improvement after halftime. He actually does a change quite sharpish, but again it's like for like Our performance at home to Brighton in the season we finished fourth was possibly one of our best under Howe in terms of the high intensity. So far from what we saw today at times

BlazeT44
His loyalty this summer might be his undoing. We need fresh blood. GK, CB, wingers and a second CF. Minimum
Matt1892
If we don’t beat Liverpool in the final and fail to qualify for the Champions League, then I think there is a good chance the club move him on, considering us not reaching Champions League will likely mean one of Forest, Bournemouth, Brighton or even Villa have. His football looks every bit as stale as some of our players, it is hard to believe how bad we play at times with the quality of some of our midfield and attack. He needs to freshen it up with what we have, before the season gets away from us.
