Smal
absolutely brutal but probably mostly necessary.
Decky
Sad to see Barker go, she was in the team since before the takeover so it was good to see her on the journey. Hopefully she stays at this level or the one below of not.
Decky
There must be some big investment coming to replace that list too.
Stifler
Yeah, they must be going full on this summer, presumably for a title challenge.
Cclay
That leaves: Shania Hayles Freya Gregory Emily Murphy Beth Lumsden Jasmine McQuade Poppy Prichard (?) Isabella Sibley Elysia Boddy Emma Kelly Demi Stokes Charlotte Wardlaw Deanna Cooper Lois Joel Charlotte Potts Lia Cataldo Jess Spark Claudia Moan Hannah Hawkins and a few of the under 21, who were in and around (unless any of the above have left and I've missed it) As people have said, brutal ... but, I guess, expected. I'd assume a fairly extensive rebuild, as a few positions are fairly sparse (e.g. left wing and central midfield). Only, really, Amber surprises me. Iwantcurlyhair2
Really surprised about Amber. Wonder if it was mutual or not. Hannah Greenwood made the decision not to renew according to her Instagram so I'll be surprised if Amber hasn't done the same. She was one of the few that gave 7/8 outof10 every week and was my player of the season. I agree with 54 about Katie Barker and can't understand why she wasn't given the same type of send off that Grace received especially by generally being the face of the club over the last 3 years. With the turnover of players I am over the moon that PSR has prevented us doing the same with the men's team. I found this last season more difficult than the previous two as changing 6 or 7 first teamers took away alot of the enjoyment. Makes you really appreciate the coaching that Eddie has done to improve the original guys and have them playing well beyond their previous level. I'm going to blame Paul Mitchell for this as I never liked him.

Yeah, I posted very similar to this at the end of last season when the first purge took place, and I only went to one game this season. It proved to me that it's not just about the kit and the name of the club. Jas McQuade and Charlotte Potts were the clear standout performers for me from the national league season and it's good to see them kept on (although I don't think Pottsy played last season did she?) but the wholesale change of playing staff otherwise must have dented other people's enthusiasm as well
Cclay
Potts was injured for a long time. She's posted about being nearly back / much fitter. It's mad that Jas (an under 21) is almost the only one left from the 'before times'. Edited May 30 by Cclay
OpenC
Just the two I mentioned, plus Emma Kelly who isn't getting a game and Elysia Boddy I think. Oh and the reserve keeper Hannah Hawkins I think she is now, previously Reid. I accept it's the nature of football and the price of ambition but it's pretty soulless for the match going fan imo Edited May 30 by OpenC
Iwantcurlyhair2
I remember what Openc said and it's totally true. Last year wasn't the same even though there was always 3-4 from the previous year playing each week. I do believe that if Pottsy and Elysia Boddy had been fit this season we would have really been knocking at the door. I think that's why I'm so surprised that Amber has gone as she really drove the team on the pitch and worked tirelessly for the club off it. Really strange. JT24
Blimey, must have some massive plans this summer. Baptism of fire for the incoming Director of Football.
Stifler
I think they have realised that they made a mistake last season. We bought players last summer, and the January before who just were not good enough. We thought castoffs from certain clubs would be enough, but the Championship was probably more competitive than it’s ever been. We should have been going out for WSL players, and I think that’s what we’ll do this summer. It wouldn’t surprised me if we try to and some well known names in the woman’s game, internationals as well.
Keegans Export
They've presumably decided to really go for it now, bringing in a DOF and giving her almost a clean slate. Will inevitably put a lot of pressure on Langley, quite an ask for a 30-year-old with relatively little experience.

LCL's capture of Kosovare Asllani is a case in point, though Michele Kang, their owner, has more experience of the international game. I guess we'll have less press releases that say 'Becky Langley has worked with x before'. As for the DOF, it is part of the new league rules to have one but the point stands. They have a lot of space to make changes. Edited May 30 by Cclay
et tu brute
It was always coming, I'm actually surprised it took a year longer than I thought. Same as the men's team, the owners are wanting the women's team to be dining at the top. I think there will be a far higher quality of player coming in this season. ponsaelius
If you discount LCL who were a bit of an anomaly last season given the level of investment and ambition they have, we only have 7 points to make up to be going for promotion this year. Seems very achievable with good recruitment.

Both games against LCL we were by far the better team, but as in a lot of games throughout the season, the finishing was very poor
Iwantcurlyhair2
The 6 points lost to Charlton and Durham at home cost us massively. If we'd won those like we should have it would have been up there

No one asked to leave Club is a bit amateurish and still way behind the times when it comes to the womens set up They still train at the public (bullocksteads) site and have limited staff. No planning in terms of developing youngsters and no real scouting network The players that have came in over the last 12/24 months have been scatter gun types , with no real thought or planning. Hence the huge turnover each year, some of the players are just not good enough Quicker they get a head of football and maybe a new manager the better They also need alot more back room staff and maybe a proper place to train !! Could also benefit from some proper money invested or they will continue to struggle to get into the WSL Edited June 5 by JonBez comesock

Yeah but she has had several excellent seasons in the role, and by all accounts kept the womens team afloat by running everything to do with it pre-takeover, so she more than deserved her chance at this level, and besides how do you know she's out of depth until you give her the chance at it. TBH personally I don't see it, finishing 5th in the first season at semi/ professional level is more than a reasonable job in my eyes.
buzza
Why don´t we sell this lot to ourselves for a whopping 200 million, and then go on a proper 350 million transfer spree!!!
