24/7 drinking but playing in the PL? Howay man.

As one of the forum’s resident alcoholics, 24/7 drinking had me hanging out in bed watching Netflix while off my face. Putting on pants was hard work let alone leaving the house for going farther than the liquor store.

Playing in the PL at an elite level while doing that would be impressive tbh  [emoji38]

Waking up marinated in your pit with your fury tongue stuck to the roof of your mouth, brass band playing in your head. I know what’ll sort me out, running about in the searing heat heading a lump of leather said no man ever!

We’ve all done it a on a Sunday afternoon :) - though I admit that my run arounds at RB for the likes of Stocksfield may not be totally comparable to playing RB in the PL

I think, in Mrs G's line of graft, they call it "Functioning Alcoholic" & "Alcohol Dependent"

2 distinct categories, apparently.

Boat load of people, out there, managing to keep their lives ticking over.....just.

Remember laughing at the "I'm not drunk you know" family on thd Fast Show

Functioning as a professional athlete must take some doing tho. Maybees more on the "Dependant" radar, methinks.

McGrath, Merson? That SAFC bloke that smashed those cars up?

Obviously being local it shouldn't seem as far fetched as it feels, but why has he befriended multiple Gateshead players? Especially to the point of them being comfortable to pull a prank like this.

For the sake of balanced reportage, Tony Adams managed it pretty well.

edit: failed to notice the reference to McGrath etc above

I was in a boozer in a posh suburb of Sheffield while Bruce, Robson and monkey’s heed were having a quiet evening out and they were consuming at an industrial rate. Quite astonishing.
