huss9 Posted Thursday at 11:00 Share Posted Thursday at 11:00 if we ever lost isak, ekitike would be a decent replacment.

We do miss a few gems to others like Brighton, Bournemouth and so on. But we rarely seem to make bad signings.

We should have got him after PSG - 16.5m was insanely cheap even after we'd been knocked back twice. Wouldn't need Wilson replacement at that point

The College Dropout Posted Thursday at 19:22 Share Posted Thursday at 19:22 Good scouting aye. But he wasn’t an unknown and he did end up signing for PSG instead. He scored 10 Ligue 1 goals as a teenager - no? And he obviously had bags of ability. Going forward we are well placed to land these types of players and the Isak / Tonali types. Same could be said for Balogun and he's been poor since going to Monaco
GeordieDazzler Posted Friday at 10:41 Share Posted Friday at 10:41 Obviously is proving his worth now but didn’t he also refuse to go to Frankfurt initially. Kid is an expert at self sabotaging himself Definitely a chance with any club he goes to that he’ll kick up a fuss whenever he’s linked somewhere exotic. Plus his size and overall profile. Balogun looks a finisher. But there’s a reason he was never given a shot at Arsenal and a bigger club than Monaco didn’t come in for him. Not to say they are always right. Lots about a young Havertz game points to him becoming a top player - a big reason he’s had such massive transfer fees. Similar also to Isak. Before he joined us he had some up and down seasons and transfers but still was linked to top clubs and demanded a massive transfer fee.

Wanted us to sign him so bad in the era we ended up with Owen.
