He's our best player and lucky for us he's the one most invested in the club, the city and the supporters.

 

He's an absolute diamond. A very, very rare breed when it comes to your average PL footballer. We are so lucky to have him.

I think I'll take a break from the abject misery of the rumours, Howe and Tonali threads to sing this legend's praises.

 

These days it's extremely rare for a player of his calibre with no previous connection to the club/region to spend his peak years at a club like ours and embody everything we want from a Newcastle player. He's a great ambassador for us on and off the pitch, the heartbeat of the squad, a quality player who gives everything, every game and on top of all that, a dead canny and humble bloke.

 

It'll be a sad day when he leaves, he's done more than most to earn a big money move.

 

Just build the fucking statue already.

I think he’d be away tomorrow if he was being truthful, but he has a deep affinity with the club and fans, a rare thing nowadays. 
 

never forget Bruno joined when we were totally against the ropes. Not like all the so called elite players who followed.

I said this in a conversation a few months back.

I don’t think he gets a bigger move away. His age, and the fact that he can have games where he doesn’t turn around and face towards goal prevents him from making that move.

At best he gets a sideways move. He’s been pretty open in the fact that he’d like to go back to his first professional club to finish his career, but I think he goes to the MLS or equivalent between us and them.

I think you're doing him a massive disservice there mind. In my 43 years of supporting this club I can't remember a more influential player. By that I mean a player we missed so much when he wasn't there. A lot of what he does doesn't even register because we're looking at the overall picture instead of just focusing on him but he's a ridiculously massive player for us. 

 

He'd thrive even more with better players around him when he's not having to do pretty much everything.

I’m not saying he isn’t. I just think that when he had that release clause a few years ago and no one came in for him, that was his moment.

How much would it take for us to sell him? For what we would want out of need to replace him, he’s a lot of money and I don’t think clubs will go for him over other options.
