That podcast in general is pretty nauseating, Jake Humphreys basically just blows smoke up the arse of whoever is on there for an hour. It reminds me of those Inside The Actors Studio interviews from years ago that were kind of the same.

That said, Humphreys used to stick up for us on BT Sport when you had idiots like Rio Ferdinand saying Rafa should spend his own money. There was probably him, Colin Murray and maybe one or two select others who weren't Newcastle fans but really seemed to understand and get the Ashley thing and put it forwards properly.

I appreciated Humphreys sometimes he did that, but also there was a time on bt sport champions league coverage where he got confused about (AC) Milan and Inter and I was wondering how you do that on that stage...also I can't stand the concept of the high performance podcast....I get it, sometimes, but some of us don't want to wake up at 5am, some of us are quite content with mediocre peformance to be honest

I do get up at 5am, but I wouldn't listen to Humphrey's podcast when I'm walking the dogs at that time - the man is a complete weapon.  'High performance' from a bloke whose day job was to read out other people's questions to bored-looking ex-footballers - he can fuck right off.

But I'm not sure he pretends to be an expert in high performance, does he? That's also why he has the other bloke on the show. He just asks the questions.

As I said though, I do find it a but insufferable at times, tends to be the way in the self improvement area.

Yeah. I always thought it was JH wanting to learn the insides about High Performance not having it and sharing it with others

He does think this - his Twitter feed used to attest to this.  He’s talking to other ‘high performers’.  The bloke is an arse (albeit one who made sympathetic noises in our direction)

Good podcast. The mental health stuff is great and I can relate to Dan’s health anxiety and how it can spiral. Haven’t actually heard someone discuss it like that before.

I'd love to see that, the 'Mediocre Performance Podcast'

"Yeah I get up at 8.10am, got to get to work for 9.00am, I usually just about make it on time if the red lights on the main road are in my favour. I make sure I get the triple chicken sandwich in my meal deal because it's better value for money that way"

I'd pay for someone to cut that down just to the questions and all of Burn's responses. Could even cut Humphrey's and that other weird guy out all together and just stick the questions up as text.

Doesn’t need cut down. Theirs not fat on the bone. Worth listening to the full 80mins.
