Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen and Dundee United. 21 different clubs have represented Scotland in European competitions, which is quite a high percentage given there is only 42 clubs across the top leagues set up (albeit a lot of them are only part time/semi-pro) You surprise me with Dundee Utd. Didn't realise they'd actually won anything in Europe. Can remember them going very close. Seen them lose the 87 Scottish cup final to St Mirren...up the saints! Then think they lost a European final a few days later. Had they beaten Barcelona in the semis?

TheBrownBottle
Always worth remembering that we’ve played exactly thirty-five times the number of games in Europe that Sunderland has. As the kids say, there’s levels to this game.

According to that site's lists, Romania is the #1 country when it comes to the amount of teams to have competed in Europe with its 41.

Germany added in that way is a bit cheeky - it was two separate countries, so had more European slots available for more sides for quite some time as a result of them acting the cunt in the mid-C20th. Even a big side like Roma have only won the league 3 times I believe ditto Napoli and Lazio is only 2. Fiorentina were in one of the early European finals for winning the league but don't think they have since the 50's. Samp only ever won it once etc.
