Fucking hell They should probably get used to results like they had tonight for the remainder of the season, they're in a weird in-between position whereby they're miles ahead of dropping out the Playoffs but at the same time have no real chance of finishing in the automatic spots, so they'll just coast until the end of the season, without having to overly exert themselves and basically do the bare minimum. It could actually help them come May, as they could be more well rested them the teams they're competing against.

et tu brute Posted Tuesday at 23:14 Share Posted Tuesday at 23:14 (edited) Their manager has done more than a decent job. The problem over there, is that they totally overate their players, with laughable thinking that players are worth twenty million plus and that they have generational talents also. They forget they were in relegation form for most of the second half of last season and that their best player by a mile was sold. Maybe get Bally in for the play offs, daft cunts. NUFC91 Posted Wednesday at 08:07 Share Posted Wednesday at 08:07 Attendances aren't great midweek as it was well known particularly in the premier league seasons they have the largest amount of season ticket holders who live down the country....last 12 years of living in the south and all the times I've travel up for the match those fans I seen en route must of been Grimsby fans.... Wolfcastle Posted Wednesday at 20:19 Share Posted Wednesday at 20:19 Apparently the away fans regularly sing "your grounds too big for you" . Also doubles as a diagnosis for many of their problems.
Stifler Posted Wednesday at 20:27 Share Posted Wednesday at 20:27 I was doing a job around the back of their place today. I know I keep on saying how stadiums of Sunderland’s age will soon need to start major renovation, but fuck me it’s looking like it does for them. The roof is filthy. It and the cantilever beams could all do with a repaint. You have air vents with slats missing. It also amazes me that for a relatively new stadium, it has absolutely no facilities built into it. Staff offices, and the club store/ticket office are all in a building of their own in the car park. If you owned them, and had money, you’d be looking at replacing the stadium stand by stand to be honest. Vastly outdated, and it’s not 30 years old yet. ponsaelius Posted Wednesday at 20:52 Share Posted Wednesday at 20:52 To be fair it only cost £24 million to build in 1996. Pretty good value.
bobbydazzla Posted Wednesday at 21:05 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:05 Bob Murray famously squeezed every last drop he could from the SoL’s £23m build budget. The former chairman being seen on national TV admiring the new gold mixer taps in the stadium as it was being constructed has become part of Wearside folklore. Initial cost when it was first built was only £15m. Cost a further £7m to extend it from its original 42k capacity to over 48k. It's looking very dated now mind and hasn't aged well at all. Wolfcastle
They got EU grants towards the build too didn't they? Wasn't appreciated though as it turns out. Edited 21 hours ago by Wolfcastle

et tu brute
Looks like their support are not happy with the season ticket prices and 'rules' (ones who pay anyway). Has their kids prices just about doubled now? If that's the case they will need more school, university and workplace canvassing
