I suspect given the frustrations—which feel like injustices— of this window by the time we come to play them the full teenage radge version of ourselves will get an airing. I have a ticket for the home match and am trying to get an away ticket, may need a chaperone.

Would have had Xhaka tbf. Great cover and experience. The others seem like wild punts.

Not for me. 33 next month. Best days behind him. I'd be disappointed if that was the profile of player we were going for these days. Can understand Sunderland going for him as they are massively short of PL experience but I'd like to think the next midfielder we bring in would be better than he is, and with scope to improve.

If one of the visiting team looks familiar it's because it's Florian Lejeune marshaling things at the back for Rayo Vallecano.

Only one stand open, Sunderland’s a massive club.

He's a dirty cunt too.

Hope enjoys living there, the stupid twat.

The Excyewses are coming out again.

Because a weakened team and having stands closed for renovations is the only reason they'd have a shit gate for a match that doesn't come with the season ticket. Not like that's nearly always been the case for the last 30years plus or anything.

I'm not one for shaming attendances to be honest.

Sunderland as an area isn't flush with a cash and if you know the main lads played yesterday at Augsburg it's a hard sell with expensive Premier League games on the horizon.

What was the excuse last week then? Nah not having that, their attendances are always made up lies by their club, even when they have midweek games and the ground is half full, they still announced near 40,000 crowds. This is their most exciting year for decades according to them and yet we had more in attendance (plus over 10,000 more) for the game against Espanyol (with a team mainly consisting said/U23 players) than they did for both games combined.

Probably be the same however, quite a few of them were happy to be pointing out on friday night how "pathetic" our 30k attendance was vs Espanyol - their lack of self awareness is staggering at times  [emoji38]

They'll sell out against us, have a few self-congratulatory "Our Fans" (miraculously back en masse from the STID Afterlife/North Sea) threads on RTG, then hover around the 42k mark for the rest of the games, I reckon. As to whether these will be real fans - or comprised in large part by the usual aether - who knows

He'd have been a good replacement for Longstaff for a year  but not at that price.

I can see them having a decent amount of day trippers tbh.

There's a lad in our office who started following them off the back of the documentary. I think he's got plans to go over for one game.
