Honestly he typifies their fanbase. All over everything when things are going well and the second there's a blip they go into hiding. Things start going well again and they're back out all over everything again with no shame whatsoever.

Exactly. They won the league last month, their season is over now.

Says it all that we’re having an ok season, they’re having the best season of their lifetimes and we’re still above them, in a domestic cup semi, well placed to qualify for the CL knock outs and they have… well… a 1-0 win by an OG to dream of.

They didn't beat us, we beat ourselves.

They haven't won a game on their own merit since November.

I'm getting fed up of hearing about the AFCON thing like, it's not like they didn't know those players would be going when they signed them. It's not the same as, for example, unexpectedly losing a centre half to a punctured lung following a horror tackle.  If you knowingly sign players who are going to be unavailable for the busiest part of your annual calendar then it's on you to make up for their absence, not just bemoan the fact they're not there. This is part of the game

They've done fine, I just keep hearing iTs bEcAuSe pLaYeRs aRe aWaY like they didn't know this would happen, like it's an inconvenience that no other club would suffer, like it's not just what happens when you sign African national players

They’ll be expecting Reform to cancel AFCON when they vote for them

Can assure you I’ll never vote for a Reform candidate.

Very confident they’ll get in at the locals however, which is depressing, particularly given how much improvement the city centre has undergone under the current incumbents.

I’m married to an immigrant, my son is the offspring of the aforementioned. I couldn’t live with myself voting for that basket case now could I?

  Good t see you back, you speak sense unlike the others who just use this place for fickle snidey wind up comments, and only when you're winning.

Yes, Sunderland and other places in the NE must be very careful what they vote upon themselves. A lot of seasoned, decent local councillors were ousted by charlatans in the last local elections and now, months later, you hear a lot complaining because the local authority is not attending to this or that and doesn't answer requests or attend to incidents.

What did they expect when they replaced largely decent committed local people with a bunch of racists attached to a party which has been created solely to protect the interests of their billionaire backers and is fronted by the fascist Farage.

Was watching Barca in their cup semi final the other night and the commentators were saying that Sunderland were trying to sign a 22 year old Barca starlet.

The commentators chuckled when they said it and were emphasising the word Sunderland for comedy effect.

Was like they were saying Alan Barnes wants to go on a date with Wicked Game era Helena Christensen.

Who knows, the starlet may sign for them, but it still made me laugh hearing the commentators taking the piss.
