Used it for the 95/96 remake, which was of real no benefit, same for the retail discounts.

I'd imagine if you showed it in the ground or Shearers, you'd get a look of 'what the fuck is that, I need to speak to the manager'.

No. And even with the Fender presale I think my O2 presale through my phone contract got me in earlier.

The percentage of membership sales that relate to anything other than getting access to tickets must be particularly small.

I keep looking lustily at the Chelsea members loyalty points scheme in the same way that I'd peek over the garden fence at next doors smoking hot wife when she's out on a summers day trimming her bush in a pair of tiny shorts

Like a dog with two dicks you Dazzla lad. More in heat than Cindy Beale with David Wicks.

I was only in a couple of ballots, I think it’s more of a comment on paying just for the chance to apply for a ticket. When I first got a membership it put me on the list for a season ticket and when the extension was built I got one. In later years you got members gifts which was a nice way to retain a link with club if you lived away/abroad. It’s very transactional now, with not much perceived benefit.

Nah it’s partly on me for only being able to try for a handful of games (i work Saturdays etc) but in previous years I’d manage at least a couple of games a season. At the moment a membership feels like a necessity yet at the same time a waste of money

Mine and the bairns have been good value for money I'd have to say. Got an excellent ballot success % when we've applied for tickets in Level 7. Haven't kept a record but it's probably somewhere approaching 75%. Plus I got a Cup Final ticket off my membership as well!

However whenever I've tried for any other part of the ground we've always got knocked back so if I wasn't applying with the bairn I don't think I'd be happy with what I'd got.

What response would you expect from the club about of curiosity? Pot luck isn’t it?

It is but with the club stating success rate was to be expected at % (can’t remember % but whatever 2-3 games is from a full season) then if you’ve had no joy all season going into the last week/chance of the season I’d of rang the box office to highlight this… You never know what odd pity ticket they might have lying around on occasions. The last thing they’ll want is people being able to confirm they are 0/19 in the league and 0/whatever home cup games we got. They’d want to at least guarantee 1 IMO.

However looking at @gdm @Novocastrian replies they’ve only put in for a couple of ballots which explains why they’ve had 0% success so in that case the box office have no case to answer.

yeah, I’ve no complaints really (yet) as I said it’s on me that I have to work most Saturdays.

however out of the last two seasons I’ve had 1 ballot success and 1 re sale success. I’m of course not saying I deserve anything but the point I’d like to make is not everyone’s circumstances are the same and if like me you can only get to a certain number of games and the chance of a ticket from the ballot is slim then what incentive is there really for having a membership?

as I said previously and it’s entirely on me but I’ve come away from this season thinking I’ve just wasted my money. then you see on the last day 10-12 people from an Italian supporters group all getting tickets. No harm to them but feels like I’d have more success if I was in a fans group abroad than I have living a couple hours down the road.

Anyway I’m not blaming anyone it is what it is. Nature of the beast being successful.

Tricky one in your situation. Personally I’ve sacrificed career and salary my entire life so I’m never in a position where I can’t go to a game when I want to.

You might actually be better off paying more for the Mags+ and for the extra £10 I believe you get better/more regular discount of merchandise I think so over the 12 months you’d claw it back at least if your into your NUFC clothing etc.

Until capacity increases I can’t see any other benefit for you if only applying a couple of times a year as your chances are slim even having 19 attempts.

There’s a membership discussion/workshop in the next few weeks involving fans similar to yourself feeling underwhelmed so hopefully some positive change might happen in time for 25/26.

It be nice if even a dozen away tickets were put in a members ballot even. If they improve the identification process for members.

The club is trying to grow its domestic and international fan clubs so I wouldn’t get hung up on seeing a few Italian fans at a game together as a negative.

Yeah think I’m going to just apply for most games next season and if I’m successful just call in some favours and get days off swapped etc

annoyingly the most games I could get to in a season was in the championship but as I say the nature of success.

You can't do the general sale queue? That's the biggest benefit of membership, unless they change the system next season.

It’s tricky being on my phone in a queue at work but it’s something I’ll be looking in to doing next season
