We've been shafted by Liverpool and Isak....and sky and the like wont bat an eyelid.

Newcastle buying top players is wrong.

Liverpool colluding with a player to sabotage and rip off another club (within a PSR world) just fine.

Where football is and was for me can be summed up with this. In the 90s what Isak and Liverpool have done would be considered a disgrace 'tapping up' was considered bad then. Now because of who has done it, it will be just fine.

Its about as unfair play as you can get financially.

We decided to go with it. Nobody held a gun to our head.

We’ve also contributed to the shafting ourselves. A gang bang with 3 cocks but only 3 people involved.

When can we close this thread?

I want to erase this cunt from my memory.

Going to avoid all the hullabaloo the next few weeks, all the Isak promo videos that Liverpool will somehow sneak into my algorithm, all the football podcasts, all the lazy youtube football content creators, all of it will be disgusting.

On a positive note, it's far from guaranteed that he'll be a success. Injuries are surely a concern when you pay that sum of money. Real Madrid fans were also giddy when they bought Hazard as well.

We don't want a club that wins, we want a club that tries capitulates at the slightest bit of pressure and strengthens a rival while weakening ourselves for no reason other than it being the path of least resistance.

FYI best you can get for Wissa to join us tomorrow is 8/11. Bookies think he’s more likely to join us than stay there.

It's not their prediction of what will happen, it's a reflection of how people are betting.

Isak held a metaphorical PSR gun to our head by allegedly refusing to play.

I'd have loved it if we could have proved it to report them for illegal tapping up and go all Marinakis on them. But clearly we weren't willing to match them and go  nuclear the other way.

All leads back to perhaps there always was an agreement and or we wanted the money more than fans had been led to believe.

He held a water gun that's it. When it comes to points or principle your meant to stand on it. Anyone who has ever done that will understand this.

For me, the club could have held on for 3 years took points deductions and released this cunt for free, they would have had my 100% backing and support.

One thing I thought Yasir would have taken from the Liverpool game was that we can't sell to them under any circumstances.  I mean the fans couldn't have made that anymore obvious - anyone but Liverpool.

I'll never ever be able to wrap my head around how the club has acted throughout all of this. Never. It's absolutely fucking insane.

So the club is deliberately doing this and is in no way forced to by PSR rules and a striking player and if there was no PSR and Isak was saying he was happy to stay the same scenario would have unfolded?

There was no PSR gun.  The austerity had put us in a strong position and there was a 0% chance the stirke would've extended past tomorrow.

If we sign Wissa for the 65m range that eats up the majority of the PSR benefit anyway since there is no resale value.

I agree and that's us fans talking. But these are business men ultimately and they don't want to lose out on a high value asset. So they took a choice to sell for less than maximum but still securing in their eyes decent money.

It's annoying as fuck but inevitable I suppose . Problem is they were naive and could have still cashed in later in Jan or next summer. Taking this option has fucked us short-term and long-term for multiple reasons now.

0% is strong. They obviously didn't get that impression when they met with him.

However that was the game right there. Who would blink first. We should have held firm and waited it out and said ok the window is closed now what do you want to do Alex?

I think that's where Eddie has probably come in and given his opinion and I think it was clear he was done with the scumbag and wanted him gone even if we had to make a loss on our price.

I'm not remotely confused by any of it. Been slating for years how bad PSR is and what it was going to lead to and this is exactly the sort of thing I feared. The 6 hoovering up everybody they want and everybody they want being tempted to go because only the 6 can offer big money. Couldn't be clearer.

alexf is right, this isn't standing up to Nelson Muntz and showing you wont be bullied, this is a business having 125m for literally fuck all for all the good Isak was going to be for us, or having less than that next summer with a less years on his contract and maybe a year of not playing or playing half-arsed at best behind him. Without PSR they probably tell them to get fucked but nobody can do that now.

They took what they thought was the easiest option. We know people like this they will be believing they've made a great deal and all is good.

Short term pain. Come back stronger etc im sure we've all heard that. If not be prepared for him scoring 25 goals and the media telling us what amazing business we've done by getting such a fee for a player who wanted to leave. It's going to unbearable.

In retrospect they've acted like they don't understand what was at stake.
