Would likely nearly double his salary combined with living in London. What's not to like tbh.

A new ground in several years time might bring us closer to Arse, but we'll remain strangled by the rules for a good while yet.

Genuinely think the living in London thing is overhyped.

Most of the clubs in London have their training grounds on the outskirts, with players living outside of London, often outside the M25.

It’s the same in Manchester as well, most of the players at both Manchester, and Liverpool clubs live in Cheshire.

They have the money these days that the can be anywhere they want via private travel, be that in their own car, being Chauffeured, or even by plane.

Actually most of the Man U and Man City players live in Hale and Bowdon, Altrincham. Both of which are in Greater Manchester.

Liverpool players you’re right, most of them live on the Greater Manchester / Cheshire border. Loads of them in Knutsford.

Who has played for us in the last 25-30 years with a higher ceiling and a higher level of ability?

Answer for me could be fucking zero he's that good, and I have no doubt he would beat Shearer's goals record if he stayed here for the rest of his career and avoided any major injuries.

Tiresome this arsenal isak craic.

We might aswell say we want Bellingham but only have 30 million to spend. It's a non story unless they obtain the 150 million that's needed.

I think he’ll actually end up at Liverpool, they had a few windows not spending much so I reckon they can afford him and they will be thinking of replacing salas goals some window soon.

i think he’ll be better suited to their style of play than arsenals as well.

Hatem.

He’s way above of Hatem in terms of ability to influence games, which is the only ability that matters.

Perhaps, but in terms of 'ceiling' and level of ability, Ben Arfa was streets ahead; which is not a slight on Isak, only that I reckon Ben Arfa might have only been behind Messi in terms of technical ability in his generation. He was a genuine prodigy.

Most of them right on the city limits.

And Darras Hall where at least 12 of our players live is outside the Newcastle city limits. Clearly multimillionaire footballers are going to live in the nicest areas with the most mansions.

Is this a forum joke?

I remember listening to Karim Benzema, who competed against Messi for years and grew up alongside Ben Arfa at Clairefontaine (France's Lilleshall), saying that Ben Arfa was as good as Messi in terms of his talent. And to my eye, in the generation they both played, it's only Hatem who made the game look as easy as Messi. Ball striking, ball control, dribbling, ability in tight spaces tying 3-4 defenders in knots with a simple drop of the shoulder. He was frankly absurd and outside of Messi, peerless and unparalleled.

That said, he was a complex character and obviously didn't manage to bring his full talent to fruition over a sustained period, but I can't think of another player of his generation that was closer to Messi in terms of pure ability.

This is the worry for me too. I will be disgusted if we sell him to the dippers to fuel their following 5 title challenges. Under no circumstances should we sell to them, no matter the price.

Agreed about not selling but I feel if slot continues like this then there’ll be in a position where players won’t want to say no if they come asking. Really hope I’m wrong but where Bruno says Newcastle feels like home Isak says he doesn’t comment or get involved in speculation. The difference in these two answers concerns me but I am a worrier

Take Salah out of the current LFC team and I dont think there is much between them and the current NUFC squad. Give Isak the correctly updated contract and I dont see why he should want to uproot and go there.

Because he will be the new sala and they’ll still be in the top two, three at the worst season after season. You’re comparing Liverpool without sala to us with isak. And they’ll pay him more of course.

Take Salah out of this current team and they arent guaranteed to be a top two team IMO. He is literally carrying them to the title himself. And as good as Isak is, he's nowhere near the current level of Salah.

Liverpool would never pay what it takes to land Isak.

It's a big part of the reason they brought Michael Edwards back, to go back to identifying prospects they can sign before they cost a bomb.

They're even hesitating to sign VDV and Salah to big contracts because of their age, and seems like they'd rather move on to kick start a new era with a new generation of players.

Seems like those two re-signing will be more down to the outside pressure from the fan base.

We could go round in circles on this now we’re into opinions but they bring more money in than us, have spend around £200m less then us since our take over and have more sellable assets. Fact is - take off the black and white tinted glasses then if you’re ambitious you’re going to want to go there. I only hope ambition doesn’t come into his opinion too much if they do come in for him. A lot of “I thinks” in there so its just what I dread.

Yeah we will have to disagree. You dont move to a club just for its history, you go for the team you are joining, and I dont think there is much between us and LFC when you remove Salah from the equation. As long as we can match the wages LFC can offer then there is no reason to jump ship if NUFC are also qualifying for the CL.
