Kaka we have a new DOF every other week man.

Howe's great at identifying well known players who will fit our system and group, but as a club we've failed to properly give him what he needs (some of this might be his fault).

Things might still end up good, but they would likely be a lot better with someone in charge who Howe trusts and who isn't a weasel like Ashworth.

And yet! Despite all the chaos, the progress has been pretty extraordinary right?!

The club was an absolute shit show under Mike Ashley, and so getting it right was never going to be without some issues here and there. Honestly, it could be so much worse than this.

I think Eddie may need to have gone through what he has so far this summer, to be a tad more open minded going forward, when it comes to the DOF coming in, and also perhaps the kind of players we look at.

All part of the process. Lets let it marinate.

No - we want the club - namely PIF to give Eddie the staff he needs to get transfers done quickly.

The last two guys in charge of all that left abruptly.

Also, this idea we are slower at transfers than everyone else is a complete myth.

I don't think so. Eddie himself has highlighted they are short staffed.

Plenty of clubs are taking an age over transfers this summer, to be fair. From the news breaking to Liverpool actually signing Wirtz was 3 weeks. Man Utd have just finally landed Mbeumo. Arsenal have taken weeks and weeks over Gyokeres.

It's a fair comment but as we are competing against these clubs for the same players we as a club haven't that luxury.

Agreed the club can't win here if we stand firm for 7 weeks like manu did for mbeumo we are at risk of repeating the mistake of last summer and running out of time. If we move on to other targets the narrative appears rejection after rejection and go from position to position not getting very far.

We need speed and pivoting at the same time a small recruitment team can't be helping matters.

We can't compete with these clubs. If we are going to do it then we need to have a really solid Plan B list of players to fall back on. Not seeing it so far.

The progress has been made inspite of the people getting the deals of the line not because of them, so many teams are taking gambles with cheaper or not premier league hardened players and it’s paying off like Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth with oh so many. When we bought Isak I remember Arsenal saying he’d never make it but very soon after all southern press calling us selfish for not selling - now it seems we’re becoming one of those teams who also turns our noses up at the same players we once bought.

If / when he goes it has to be to a non PL team - be too painful seeing him play against us

I’m having nightmares of him leaving to a prem team and then us being one of the dogs in the Isak dog meme

Well this is what the manager believes is necessary in order to take the next step forward.

And so the only way to resolve that if it is deemed to be an issue, is to get rid of Eddie Howe.

And so are you prepared for us to do that?

I think he’ll go to Liverpool next summer in all honesty. I can’t see Barca being able to afford it and where else could he go?

Chelsea, Arsenal, PSG, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich.

If any of the rumors have some truth, I’d be surprised. If PIF have felt that he was tapped up, they would cut their nose off to spite the face rather than give Liverpool the satisfaction.

Chelsea maybe but surely they don’t ditch the two forwards they’ve just signed after 1 season

Arsenal are signing Gyokeres

PSG don’t need another striker but guess that could change. Likewise Madrid by all accounts they are bringing that Garcia kid thru. He played a lot of minutes in the CWC

can Atletico afford £150m +?

can Bayern afford £150m+? And is the end of Kane ?

It’s easy to throw out club names but it’s also a lot of money. Probably close to a record fee

Load of shite targett, Wilson and longstaff a chunk of that can offset an Isak bump we aren't ever going to get him to 300 or 350 a week but I am sure we could do 200 or 220k is that enough? No idea.

Also I am sure people have said if he signs a new deal we spread his amortisation over that new contract length bringing the yearly psr cost down?

True and I know that but Targett? 😭

Really have to hope some of these youth players start to be worth something or can break into 1st team I dont know where all the funds are going to come from all the spending needed in the next 2 or 3 years.
