So they all flew from Austria to Glasgow direct then Isak just went on back to Newcastle?

Going from those comments that would appear to be the case

Howe said he travelled to Glasgow (I assume from Austria)

If they all flew to Glasgow from Austria and told him to go home I'm not overly fussed. (That's just the way I feel)

If they flew to Newcastle from Austria the other day and then travelled to Glasgow and then sent him home I'd be a bit more concerned.

Either give him a contract closer to what he wants in wage, or get as much money as possible for him to fund a rebuild (if we can convince anyone to join us ).

Those are our two options I reckon. Waiting till next summer on his current terms won't end well.

He said sent home. From Glasgow or from Austria on the way back?

Sounds like they all flew into Glasgow from Austria and then told Isak to go home.

Like I said further up, it would be a lot more alarming if they flew back to Newcastle, he brought Isak up with the squad to Glasgow and then decided to send him home.

I can’t help you if you think Isak’s head is in the game I’m afraid

There's a difference between not having your head in the game and having your head "turned". Which is what you said about Isak.

Sorry for my outbursts, it's all getting to be too much for my fragile mind to deal with. I'm going to avoid football forums until the window closes. I hope he stays but if he doesn't, so be it.

Take care of your minds folks.

We walked away on Wednesday. The fact Isak travelled to Glasgow suggest something happened since Wednesday

I’m not sure. The whole squad flew to Glasgow. He probably then took a private jet back to Newcastle taking about 40min.

Exactly.

And exactly.

Struggling mentally to deal with the speculation, and having your head turned are two entirely different things.

Personally, I don’t believe he wants to leave (but he or his agents may want a big new contract).

Give him a whopping pay rise with a clause in for teams outside the PL next summer.

If we're going to lose him, please god let it be to Barca or Bayern who'll surely be after a striker this time next year

To be honest if I am Isak I would demand the club to give me a new contract or let me go. Just like what Howe said, footballer career is short and now since I am widely regarded as the best striker in the world, it’s the best time to get what I want.

We probably have no choice but to give him a new contract, the only way to resolve the matter now

I'm betting/hoping this is the case. Especially if the rumors are true that Mitchell walked back promises from the previous hierarchy that getting him a new contract was a priority.

From his point of view, I can imagine the frustration of contract talks being stalled along with one of the biggest clubs in the world knocking down your door promising to double your wages no questions asked.

Hopefully this accelerates contract talks, he gets a new fat contract with a gentleman's agreement for him to leave England in the next couple of seasons.

He gets a pay increase and reasonable release Clause if he chooses to leave in the next few years.

We get a guarantee of another season or 2 out of him before he leaves to Barca/Real/Bayern/PSG with a big fee.

Everyone's happy

I've not once disputed that his head might or might not be "in the game".

All I've disputed is that his head has been "turned".

Those are two different things.

That’s fair but include Ornstein/romano saying he’s open to the move. Howe’s comments about his career being short (something they’ve obviously been discussing)

We may have to sell just for the betterment of people's wellbeing.

Not sure this fan base can handle having this calibre of player.
