Howe's win rate being only bettered by Keegan doesn't stop you criticising him like.

And by your own admission he deserves criticism, so I’m not sure what your point is.

It’s not a high bar either, is it. Bobby had a poor side for 2 seasons, Rafa a Championship one. And Isak isn’t 12th after 15 games.

The point is Isak can still be criticised much like Howe can without being a clown for doing so.

The poster said he should ‘get his act together’. He stands out a country mile as our best player, gave one of the best forward performances I’ve ever seen in our colours on Wednesday, scored again today, and without him we’d have easily finished bottom half last season (and God knows where we’d be this campaign).

Get his act together. Have a word.

Not really, that’s the opinion of a clown and you know it is. The criticism of Eddie, who currently I don’t want to get sacked, is completely legitimate. Isak’s been mostly brilliant from his first game to today’s game. He’s doing his job.

Actually Isak is part of a squad that is 12th after 15 games.

So technically your last sentence is false.

Isak being on form today in a way he hasn't been for most of this season was probably the difference in preventing this being a much more dismal defeat. Excellent today overall and it's a shame we got no real benefit from it.

That miss was a stunner, mind.

Beyond a stunner but I'm not on his back. Needs to not be so cute sometimes. I mean, he pulls off some crazy good stuff but when you've beaten the keeper shoot and shoot fast.

I know hindsight is 20/20. Seemed obvious at the time it happened.

One other thing, watching the extended highlights (will stop at halftime as the rest were lowlights) @David Edgar did make a valid point. Might have been a bit lucky in the sense that Murphy did seem to taking a shot on goal as I saw it a few times but Isak was brilliant with that header so in that sense there was no luck involved.

Isak created the chance for himself mind, not sure why people are dunking when it was his own hard work who got him that chance.

He did. It's football though not cricket. Fine margins, gotta finish it up having done so much to get yourself in that position.

edit: He needed to take that with his left foot although would have been more difficult. Keeper did a great job to reach in.

Imo It just depends on whether someone's one of your untouchables or not where any criticism is concerned. Isak is, Howe isn't. Isak's a fantastic player and his record is great but it's not at all ilegitimate to say that despite all that he's also missed a lot of sitters this season and could improve in those situations.

Considering how often you preface your criticism of Howe with disclaimers about what you rate about him, I would have thought you'd appreciate there's nuance.

There’s not a lot of nuance in ‘should get his act together and start taking his chances’. It implies something that isn’t true. It’s a fucking Donald Trump statement. [emoji38]

All strikers miss, Haaland had the most big chances missed last season, Isak is one of the best strikers in the world and he looks fired up lately, but he won't be able to help us much if we are conceding 3+ goals a game.

It's not even wrong, he could be even better than he already is, has missed sitters, and will likely want to improve.

Tbf though it's critique that applies much more to Gordon than anyone, his finishing doesn't just need improvement, it's been shocking overall.

I would rather sell Gordon and Bruno than sell Isak however I dont see how a club essentially looking likely to finish outside of Europe will be able to hold onto Isak. He’ll double his money and play in the champions league.

There's not a striker in the world who won't miss chances. Point is, he's still scoring goals, and even despite missing a glorious chance yesterday through trying to be too precise, he was still one of our best performers yesterday. We didn't get humped because of him.

No one said we did. He can improve his finishing, that's all. He's a 1 in 2 striker with all the tools to be closer to 1 in 1.

He'll be off next summer but can anyone really blame him. He's a world class striker at a club that's stalled recently. I'm sure he hoped for some better incomings. He'll have his pick of clubs too. As long as we get at least £100 million I'll wish him good luck. As much as I hate to admit it, he's too good for us presently.
