I watch the Premier League week in, week out, and know all the players. Of course I want them to win in Europe. The better the English teams do, the better the national team does.

that Barcelona team is is full of WORLD CUP winners. I believe 9 out of 11 of them. That Bayern Munich team is full of World Cup winners.

The Man U and Chelsea team with Rio, Terry, Lampard, no world cup winners, no international acclaim. You guys are the weird ones to me liking seeing Sevilla win seven Europa Leagues, Real Madrid win 15 Champions Leagues and then watch Spain win the World Cup and Euros. Go cheer on Spain the World Cup then.

I like the Premier League, I like our style of football. As good as that Barcelona team was, they used every trick in the book, they were no angels. Chelsea were robbed that night in 2009, it truly was a disgrace.

Was that Iniesta goal 2009?

One of my favourite non-NUFC football moments.

Yea. Sure everyone jumped for joy when Oyerzabel won the Euros for Spain this summer. Fuck England, right?

People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis and a Newcastle fan wanted Chelsea to beat Barca and Man Utd to beat Bayern, you can't trust people

Would you support Sunderland in a Champions League final?

I stick by it. I watch the Premier League every week, know all the players, all the storylines. I don’t want Chelsea or Man U to win domestically but in Europe, I do. The Spanish sides won the CL and Europa in 2009-2012 and their national teams won the World Cup and Euros. Bayern and Dortmund got to the final of the CL in 2013 and Germany won the World Cup in 2014. Our English sides are beginning to get in CL finals and England are getting closer to international success with a semi, and two finals under our belt.

No, of course not. I do want them to get promoted, though so we can thrash them in the Premier League and get revenge for all the wins they racked up against us under Pardew and co.

So if Sunderland played Real Madrid in a CL final you'd still want Sunderland to lose?

No, no and thrice, no

Unless their win would directly affect NUFC in a positive way, no Newcastle fan is EVER allowed to want Manchester United to win ANY game

To be honest, I’m flabbergasted at your admission

Football landscape has changed in recent years so I don’t mind Real winning things as they have Bellingham in the team. He has big game mentality and that big game mentality translates to England.

The same Bellingham caught singing an anti-Shearer song recently?

I’m hoping Real lose every game they play, Fiorentina Perez traps his bollocks in a folding seat and Bellingham gets knocked out by a spider cam. They’re the pits, the Francoist Super League instigating shitbags.

Wouldn’t want them to lose that hypothetical CL final mind.

We got our revenge last season.

I hope they now go bust.

I can do whatever I want, mate. I support Newcastle but in Europe, I want English teams to win so England have a stronger chance of winning a major. The proof is there with Sevilla, Real and Barca, Milan in the early 2000s and their World Cup triumph in 2006 and Parma winning the Uefa cup in 1999 with a lot of those players in the 2006 WC winning team.

I watch the Premier League week in, week out. I don’t watch La Liga or Seria A. I have an emotional attachment to PL sides, sorry, I just do.

English teams have won and lost plenty of CL finals since the 90’s

England still haven’t won anything on the international stage

Maybe we’ve let too many of them pesky forrins play for our club sides

It was so fun I want to see it again. It’s an easy six points. We have the mental edge on them.

Its probably an easy six points against most teams coming up these days.

No need to get those involved imo.

yeah and France have won the lot with no european trophies since a dodgy one in 93, thus disproving that theory.

But their players played for the biggest sides in the world at the time winning and playing in the Champions League

Lizarazu - Bayern

Thuram - Juventus, Parma(1999)

Deschamps - Juventus

Henry - Arsenal

Trezeguet - Juve

Wiltord - Arsenal

Vieira - Arsenal

Petit - Arsenal

Zidane - Juventus, Real

Makelele - Real, Chelsea

Pires - Arsenal

This is straight off of the top of my head but I’m sure there are others and also relates to the 2018 winning team.

France got red up of their national team not doing anything, so starting in the 80’s they set up academies in every region of the country that was independent to their clubs. The aim was to win the World Cup, which they did in 1998, and obviously again in 2018.

Brazil have a culture of having players have access and playing Futsal and beach football, usually paid for by the government or local authorities.

Spain and Italy etc all have facilities for kids to play at free of charge.

England eventually looked at what France did, then built 1 academy, which most of the country can’t access, and is usually closed to the public due to a select few using it, as well as the national team, and visiting teams.

McDonalds and Mars have both funded new facilities for grassroots football, but it’s usually provided to non-league clubs who don’t let the general public use it.

Our government will give grants to the people who own Goals, and other 5 aside pitches, but charge people a minimum of £50 to use them.

The same applies local leisure centres, all behind an expensive paywall.

Kids in the U.K. are left to use back alleys, local parks where the facilities are rotten, or play on patches of grass that have no ball games signs up and around it, with Dorris waiting to report kids playing football as she asks why Kids these days sit in all day playing FIFA.

This is why we have a lack of talent, and why we have won fuck all at a national level.

true but Arsenal won nothing in Europe.

I've always been of the opinion that English teams doing better only helps them really and makes it harder for us to catch them, the recent extra CL place could potentially swing it a bit.  Even then I could never cheer for Man United or Liverpool, probably Chelsea too.
