Salah has sustained a higher level within the league for a much longer period of time. I would argue under Klopp, that Salah did more for the team than Ronaldo, who left the dirty work for Rooney, Tevez, and Neville. Expand Ronaldo was literally the best player in the world while in the Premier League. Salah has been at a high level for a longer period, but never a higher level. It's just recency bias from someone not old enough to have seen the players talked about in their prime. If we're talking about sustained high levels, then the all time Premier League team would just be a Man United team plus Shearer.

Kid Icarus
By that metric Bale gets in over Giggs and Suarez gets in over Shearer or any other suggestion at CF. Tbh I think she's just about right. Salah's got the longevity at an extremely high level in his favour. Ronaldo needed another couple of seasons at the level he was at in 08/09 to take the place. Froggy
It's not always bait son. That's just the truth. Ashley Cole's peak is higher than Irwin's, but did he perform at a high level for as long as Irwin? No. EDIT: (ignore this, Froggy's not well) Kyle Walker's peak is higher than Neville's, but did he perform at a high level for as long as Neville. No. etc. etc. You still put Ashley Cole in at left back in an all time XI, because his highest level was better than anyone else's in that position. Expand This is where it comes down to opinion, but I think Giggs had multiple seasons that were better than Bale in 12/13. Bale and Suarez were both incredible though so it's a fair argument either way. If longevity at an extremely high level is the bar, then Giggs goes in over Henry. Giggs was tearing teams apart as a teenage winger in the early 90's, and controlling games as a 39 year old central midfielder in the 2010's. His highest level isn't as high as Henry's though. Could be an interesting debate though and would be interesting to see how people's teams would differ.

But yeah, I get the thinking behind it. For me Salah has had one or two 10/10 seasons and like seven or so 9/10 seasons vs Ronaldo's one or two 10/10 seasons and two or so 9/10 seasons. If we're doing an 'only peak' XI I think Suarez gets in before anyone as well. He's the highest peak I've ever seen in the league, higher even than Henry, Shearer, Ronaldo, Bale.
