I don't really care if it benefits us or not, I hope they change that League Cup draw next season, its ridiculous that the teams in Europe get such a benefit.

Agreed, but season after next eh, let us have the unfair privileges just once.

Apart from beating Arsenal, is there any other scenario where we qualify this weekend whilst not picking up points?

Match or better both Forest and Villa and we are there bar a 16 goal swing on last day. Forest and Villa lose before we play and we’ve qualified effectively

edit: same applies on unrealistic goal swings required if forest draw as well. So Villa lose, forest don’t win, arsenal game is something of a party unless we lose by 8

Realistically a Villa draw would make it practically certain unless there’s a crazy swing.

edit would still need a point

Man U have only beaten 1 team outside of the relegation teams since the middle of December (Fulham away). They're losing their last 2 games, they're absolute pigshit

In fact, they've only beaten 4 teams NOT in the relegation zone all season. City, Fulham (twice), Everton and Brentford. That's abysmal by any measures you care to use

Hope we get it wrapped up this weekend. That Everton game has the potential to be a slog.

We'll do it, buy it'd be nice to be as stress free as possible.

I don't expect Man U and Spurs to "throw" the games on Friday. If anything, both are desperate for some momentum going into the final, which with CL on the line is far more monumental for them than anything they have played in for quite some time. My guess is that they will both go for it first half and look to bring off vital players in the second to rest them. I don't think it would make sense for them to just play peripheral players from the start. Were there no final, both teams would be in "beach" mode, assuming such thing exists.

Just us and finals, but we went into the Carabao final against Man U after two draws and a defeat in the league. Before Liverpool, we won two and lost one (at Liverpool), and also lost the FA cup game against Brighton. Our approach and energy on the field were vastly superior in the second final despite us facing better opposition.
