Of course I’d take it, I just don’t think it’s a major trophy and would much rather win the league cup, for example.

I doubt players and fans around Europe know who has won the League Cup but they'll know who has won a European Trophy.

Fecking Scum United. I'm mainly hacked off for three reasons.

1. I live on continental Europe so I've possibly lost a chance to see is play live.

2. Scum United fans won't appreciate playing these games and we really would have.

3. It shouldn't have gone down to this. Everton and Brighton at home should have both been won and Scum United were there for the taking.

Chill out.  Its a blessing.  Trust me.

Not necessarily true, it helps with the league, but it still didn't work for Chelsea and Spurs.

I'm not one of life's optimists and nor am I the type to placate myself with comfortable fibs but I honestly think missing out on this naff competition will be a blessing come August. Eddie will be working like a man possessed, Tonali and Joelinton will be like caged beasts released in midfield, Hall and Livramento will be in their zones, ready to go in August, Isak's cool facade will be dropped and we'll see more of the radge packet side of him, Old Keiran Trippier will get a late career second wind, a sort of football viagra, Barnes will have been fully Howed and will force Gordon to step it up to a notch he didn't know he had, the sides of Fabian Schar's hair will turn black again and Botman will return in March like Kane entering the Royal Rumble as the 30th man.

God! We should finish 8th every season until we're ready to win the league.[emoji38]

Provided we stay relatively injury free and with no Europe, I genuinely think we'll worry some teams who thought we were a passing wind after this season.

ESL Fix! Manure want to keep us down. Man City are happier competing with Manure who they’ve come to dominate than the Saudi-backed Mags who could properly compete with them. A cup City we’re happy not to win for hegemony.

Gutted for all the reasons people said, winning something, extra money, slightly more attractive for players etc

But I'm gutted we're not gonna have a midweek game, best part of my Mon-Fri 9-5 life ?

It’s some craic all the same that Man U who are in shambles have won 2 trophies in as many years with the bald fraud.

It just shows how far back we were starting tbh. When we lost at their place, their homegrown players were Mainoo and Dialo, ours were Andersen and Longstaff. It showed.

Can't deny it, missing out on Europe after all of the effort we've put in over the last 9 months is a big, big blow. Think the Conf League would have actually been perfect for us but it just didn't happen and there's no point moping abut it now, it's gone. The only thing we can do is to try and take the only positive from the situation and make the most we can of the lack of midweek fixtures next season. It's not what any of us wanted but it does give us a big opportunity to churn the squad completely this summer, trim it right down, get rid of a lot of the shite that's still clogging things up and focus on the League and domestic cups.

Watched the first half in SpotWhite in Chinatown and there was a little group of Man U fans getting moderately excited. Can't deny I was a bit jealous like

No chance Chelsea are kicked out of the EL for dodgy finances? [emoji38]

They're already kicked out. They will play conference.

It's a shame. Nothing more, nothing less.

It would have given us a genuine chance of winning a trophy for the first time in 56 years and could have been a lot of fun as well as improving our status, but we're probably more likely to qualify for the CL next year without the distraction of all those additional games.

And be back in pot 4.

I’m more outraged about your incorrect use of we’re than I am about missing out on the Conference League

Spurs probably don't finish above us if they'd had Europe like we had tbf. 5th will probably get CL football in a lot of seasons moving forward as well.
