I don't think it matters does it? If Villa are 5th it'll be;

6th CL

7th Europa League

8th Conference League

If Villa are 4th it'll be;

6th & 7th Europa League

8th Conference League

Could be wrong...

If Villa are 5th…6th CL…7/8 Europa….9 Conference

Not sure I want is to be in the Conference.  Extra games will make us tired, effecting us in the League and cups.  I want us to finish above the Mackems though

Only 6 games in the League format…Less pressure than CL and Europa….Could play a shadow squad and still progress…Possible trophy

The extra games in the conference aren't likely to be against particularly strong teams though, and a big chance to win a trophy.

I certainly don't want the mackems winning it.

I'm 99% sure that if the PL gains the 6th CL place we lose one of the Europa League places. 8th is Conference League regardless.

You’re right….from BBC…

Villa are fourth but, if on the final day they lose at Manchester City, and Liverpool win at home to Brentford, then the Villans will finish fifth.

And that could potentially put sixth into the Champions League.

The Premier League would surrender a place in the Europa League. Overall, England would still have eight European places.

8th for conference league is possible but Chelsea can't get more than 2 Points in their next two games, wed have to beat Fulham by a couple goals and Brentford lose to Liverpool by a couple of goals.

They'd have to draw against the mackems otherwise mackems have a good chance of qualifying for Europe.

Not too fussed about Europe as long as finish above them

Though the GD was 0 v +3?

Only be 5 in CL regardless if whether Villa win EL on Wed or not if they finish top 5

5th is CL (EPS)

6th & 7th is EL

8th ECL

From BBC…. If Villa win Europa….6th will go into CL

If Villa finish outside the top four, the Premier League will have six teams in the Champions League:

The top four

Villa as Europa League winners

The EPS

Villa's precise final position would decide the Premier League's total European allocation.

If they finish fifth, the EPS passes to the Premier League's sixth-placed team.

It is but if we won by 1 and they lost by 2 we'd finish on exactly same goal difference, goals scored, goals conceded so would miss out on head to head. If we won by 2 and they lost by 1 then we'd qualify if the other results went our way

It'll probably come down to the scores on the days. Could easily see Brentford getting something at Anfield though.

Chelsea could still get in CL, so will be fully committed to beating Sunderland….Is that convincing enough😊

They'll need to beat spurs first. Plus Chelsea are shite.

Having just looked it up the winner of the European Conference automatically ualifies for the Europa League the following season - which could be easier than qualifying through the Premier League.  So it might be worthwhile if we could win it.

Obviously I would much rather be in the Champions League but winning that is unlikely.  We are not one of the best few teams in Europe and are unlikely to be any time soon.  But winning the Europa League in a couple of years time would be a genuine achievement.  So maybe a place in the Conference could be better than no place on the Conference.

Not necessarily goals scored. If they lost 2-0 and we won 2-1, we'd be above on goals scored.

You often get some mad scores on the final day.

I can't see us getting the exact scores we need for 8th, it's extremely unlikely, so I personally hope Chelsea beat Spurs and then get at least a point against Sunderland, ideally win both, and we'll see if we can get a top half finish with a win.

True….just trying to cheer you up, that there is still a chance that Sunderland won’t qualify.
