It does, but it also keeps the dream of spurs being relegated alive.

A very slim dream given how turbogash Everton and Wet Spam were yesterday.

True on West ham - but Everton have a good away record and even Tottenham's revival hasn't seen them win at home.

Other than the trophy opportunity, I tend to agree.

I assume there's a Sela Cup (or some equivalent) coming up soon, where the odds are stacked in our favour cos we play more games than anyone else. That'll be harder to win than the Conference.

All these permutations to have us finishing 8th will mean fuck all when Chelsea beat Spurs tomorrow night you'd imagine

Yeah Chelsea cant get more than two points from these last two.

The permutations aren’t particularly wild for us to qualify but the chances of all of them going our way slim. Probably will all happen now then Liverpool will fuck it against Brentford

Could you imagine the mackems chasing for an equaliser against Chelsea with the repercussions being it qualifies us for Europe. 😂

Honestly if that happened and they did, it rights a few wrongs of this season.

Similar to last season on losing and yet still qualifying for CL.

I was on Bet 365 earlier, Tottenham double chance on Tues combined with Sunderland-Chelsea draw and a Newcastle win was just under 14/1. Couldn't find Liverpool vs Brentford for some reason, but I guess if you add that and one of them to win -1, then you'll be looking at at least 20/1, so it is pretty unlikely, even if not impossible.

The fact it has to be a draw in the Sunderland match makes it harder.

I'm still hoping Chelsea win on Tuesday (and Sunday).

You both sound like Talk Sport going on about odds and betting.

Such a shame football discussion is reduced to betting and betting odds so much these days, no wonder gambling is through the roof.

I gamble what I can afford to lose, and this is from someone who's best mate threw himself off a bridge after a bad night in the casino. The odds of something happening tends to give you a better understanding of the outcome. You don't have to bet.

I've hoyed a cheeky tenner on anyway. Be an amazing way to end the season.

I guess if the Newcastle and Brentford wins were just by 1 goal we wouldn't get Europe, but £500 would be a nice bonus, plus we'd finish above Sunderland and they'd still have no European football since 1973.

Nowt wrong with checking odds to offer some sort of gauge on probability. I'd be lost without oddschecker.

I get his sentiment (and as always with stiffly it's from the heart) but it's very out of place here (and uncalled for)

And that would do nicely. I can see the 2 Chelsea draws like. Just not sure on what we'll do. Fulham aren't too arsed. As usual for them, job done, another season in the league existing.

My apologies for calling you and the other person out. It’s not aimed at you specifically, I just find on here recently there has been a massive increase in talking about odds and betting in ordinary threads.

I think it’s overall part of a new culture in football where the two are so linked, that you can’t escape the betting talk when football comes up.

Absolutely no worries this end. I know your heart, and actually I agree with what you're saying. Suspend footballers for betting whilst wearing it as a sponsor which pays their wages. Totally fucking ridiculous. Thankfully betting is on its way out of football visibly, but it's too profitable to fully dissappear.

Atalanta secured their ECL spot yesterday with +15 GD.

As you'd assume it would be in order to qualify for European competition.

Any team with a big negative GD should be barred from qualification (would only ever apply to Conference league) and the spare place given to an extra team from the Faroe Islands to make it even easier for Palace or West Ham to win it.
