Hanshithispantz
This was Rodri on FIFA when he was 20. Now I'm not using FIFA scouts as some authority, but he obviously wasn't pulling up trees at Miley's age and even older. I think Miley will play a similar role when he fills out too. Looked ok, nothing of note, game passed him by a wee bit, but there were little hints of the lad’s talent from time to time This is it for me. Seems like there always needs to be an extreme opinion one way or the other. Not necessarily on here but with football in general, I’m probably guilty of it in some aspects
The College Dropout
1 hour ago, Benwell Lad said: I wonder how many times Eddie Howe, the guy working with Miley and his development day on day, has to say he's not going anywhere before it sinks in. Of course he's behind the BTJ trilogy, so are most PL midfielders not just this 18 year old. He's arguably next in line. Yes, he's not yet freely showing what he can do in the last third in his limited game time, but he comes on with clear instructions and carries them out very competently. Yesterday the game was turning against us and they were breaking at will and dominating the game. He was brought on as an extra midfield body to try and break them up and that's what he did. As a reminder of what he can do in the final third, even in his limited domestic game time, he has come up with three crucial goals, all at key moments in games, not the injury time 5th goal in a 5-0 win. He can pick out the killer pass when it's on, clearest example yet being the one he set up for Izak last season. He was pretty competent against PSG and Dortmund as well in big pressure games. His time is coming and apart from the fact that he's developing quite nicely in our squad, the anticipated number of games next season means he will stay here. He's well off it in Eddie's own regard too though. That's not going to help his development. He has the right team around him though. And a pre-season will do wonders. Hall learnt it quickly. Hall became an Eddie Howe player, Barnes too - by becoming that split second more aggressive in their play.
Roids
He's 19, not everyone is going to be Cesc or even Jude to a lesser extent. It's extremely hard to be ready as a CM at that age. He clearly has talent, needs time to develop. More playing time/loan out (feeder club pls) would help massively.
Boo Boy
Miley should have had an assist yesterday until Barnes decided to have a first touch like a blacksmith
Ikon Posted yesterday at 18:39 Share Posted yesterday at 18:39 Composed and cool and really helped us to keep the ball in possession. Never looked like a struggle for him to allow us to retain the ball.

He’s a big lad now, sometimes run with it. Overall as you say composed on the ball. Helped tick things over. Didn’t make a Meaningful impact tho
Optimistic Nut Posted yesterday at 18:42 Share Posted yesterday at 18:42 (edited) Should be looking at Rice and thinking he could do that. It's why I think a season in The Championship where he's going to technically be one of the best in the league will give him a chance to gain the confidence to play like that. Just silently going about moving the ball. What we need in CM as Bruno can then be the more attacking one as he’s shown he has goals in his game, then you expect your wide men to score plenty over a course of season. Jesse Pinkman
Looked very sharp and composed on the ball when he came on. If big Joe is out, I’d start him against Everton Edited 23 hours ago by Jesse Pinkman

I don’t think that alone is enough in the PL anymore. Especially when losing a game. You got to penetrate with the passing. If you don’t, you should be impactful off the ball. Lewis Shelly a couple times tried or pulled off really forward thinking balls. It’s easier from fullback but we need Miley to get the confidence to really impose himself on games. I don’t think comparing him to a Ballon D’Or winner will do him favours. Let him mature his own game. Let’s hope he gets loads of minutes next season with us or on loan. Conjo
Although understandable why he doesn't, I wish he took more risks to showcase his ability. Reckon he has the ability to get past his press and create something out of it. He's just not comfortable doing it in fear of losing the ball. Exactly why I think a season at a promotion-chasing Championship club would be perfect if we could get a decent loan to cover him for a year. Within a few weeks down there he'd see he's a class above everyone technically and he can start to express himself a lot more. The following season he'd hopefully have the self confidence to continue that in the Premier League against better players knowing what he's capable of. HawK
I think he's just playing within the tactical instructions from Howe, he's young and doesn't know when to take those risks like Bruno or Tonali does. This will come with time, his ball retention and first touch is top tier, his weight of pass is good. I want to see him play behind Isak.

Conjo
1 hour ago, The College Dropout said: Doesn’t seem much of a dribbler/ carrier Agree, but he seems capable of receiving the ball and make enough space for himself with his first touch and vision to find a progressive pass rather than sending it backwards or sideways. He just doesn't do it either by instruction or lack of belief that he can do it, or a combination of both.
Sempiternal
He will not be a DM, and yeah not the best ball carrier, great passer though. 10/AM is his position
The College Dropout
You can’t be a 10 in this era if you can’t engineer a bit of space for yourself. He’s got a load of attributes that he needs to refine with regular game time.

I think he can play there he has quick feet, fluid player but hardly anyone plays with a ten of his ilk

buzza
I will get shot for this, but I just don´t see him progressing that much, a stable lower table prem. league holding midfielder. Yes, he is "tidy" on the ball but most of his passing is sideways or backwards, he doesn´t seem to be able to create danger as he is not pacy and is far too conscious of not losing possession. He didn´t push forward on sunday either, he sort of "hangs back" to find holes instead of running into space in front of him. Just not my cuppa tea tbh...
