duo
It's money - regardless of what people say it's the main reason players are still attracted to them. I mean Carrick is their current manager.

If we sell him to Man United I will melt Froggy into glass and drink coffee from his bones. The last decent player we got off you was Andy Cole over 20 years ago. Since then we've given you stalwarts like Gillespsie, Smith, Butt, Simpson and Obertan who made 500+ appearances combined for you. You owe us a good one. Players could be joining them just in time to end up with a manager they've dealt with before and utterly hate, a manager who doesn't want a player in their position, or just a clown like Bruce. There wouldn't be any formal approach to Newcastle until the season ends. I'm sure we have a fair idea where we're heading with a permanent manager by that point. 2 minutes ago, duo said: Yeah but they'll give em £250k+ a week Again, how many of our players have been given over £200k since INEOS came in? 0. We're not handing Tonali £100k more a week than Mbeumo.

What annoys me the most is that they're allowed to offer way more money than us, yet their club as a whole is in masses of debt that just gets kicked down the road indefinitely. On a different note to that though, if Sandro's agent keeps coming out with all the stuff around gentlemen's agreements and pushing for him to go to Man Utd or Arsenal, it strikes me that if Sandro doesn't sack the agent he's showing that it's probably true. Why would any player let their agent kick up that sort of ill-feeling and aggravation, without reigning him in publicly?
duo
Cunha is on £200k a week- Tonali would get more than that as he's an established Italian International. Don't fool yourself that Man U still are high wage payers

Okay technically he was a free agent nobody wanted AND had to make that magazine to advertise his 'quality', but I'm still counting it dammit! 🤣

If Tonali thinks he's going to get a Casemiro deal then we're the wrong club for him. It will be £180-200k, and if that's not enough for him we'd just move on to Wharton. I do think a fans perspective is always the most important though. The reaction on here about this news has me a tad worried if we did sign him, as I was under the impression he was absolutely class. he is class, but hasn't been as great this season as he was last season exaggerations here are wild, and the slightest hint of infidelity is enough to make people completely turn against our players last season you'd swear he was the best midfielder in the world, this season he's been mostly "shite" from what I've read here I think he has struggled for form this season but nowhere near as bad as made out took me a while to warm to him but now I fully appreciate how good he is at his best and how unbelievably difficult he'd be to replace I pray MU don't get him or Bruno, it doesn't seem fair

Bruno seems committed to the cause, and is also outside of the supposed INEOS age profile. I think Tonali would cost a fortune as well and we could probably get Baleba or Wharton for less, and they're also younger. I think INEOS will ultimately go for the cheaper option and I don't think that's Tonali, both in the fee and in wages.
Superior Acuña
Money is an important factor, but I do think the massive prestige of ManU is a big draw too. As money-driven as a lot of players might be, I do think there's also a lot of players that will care about that kind of thing too.

Cunts. Tonali's agent has been spouting off about a move and that's the information they're being fed. If they're reporting it, it's because that's what they're being told. He clearly wants off and he's told his agent to make it happen. Fine by me, re-invest the money and move on.

Sir Joel Inton
Difference between Tonali and Bruno is that Bruno would have played on Sunday. Whether that is a criticism of Tonali or Bruno just being a mad bastard is the area for debate.
The College Dropout
Gone from over rated to under rated on here. He was never excellent on the ball. He's the exact player who was billed to be - probably better imo. There were talks we overpaid, not true at all. Was never a better player than Bruno. And he'll be difficult to replace. I get that the media have their motives and aren’t to be trusted, but in this case Tonali, via his agent, is publicly saying he wants out. He’s a goner. He is very good, but has enough weaknesses to his game that I’m convinced we could replace him. My only gripe is strengthening a rival tbh, but I’m not gutted he goes. Who by my measure is still the second best CM i've seen from us. He's the only Newcastle midfielder where the opposition can't live with his physicality, work rate and nous consistently. Just grinding midfielders down. He's a major reason we've managed to get those big results against top teams and for the CL campaign and League Cup win. First win at Emirates he was amazing League Cup. Final amazing.
AJ9
I can’t argue with your points, what I meant by replace him is not necessarily find a Tonali like for like, but someone who can 1. Offer more control in our build 2. Retain possession though more accurate passing 3. Dictate a game through becoming more press resistant Maybe this is Miley, and maybe we need to change our whole approach / press / off the ball work to accommodate this, but I think moving on from Tonali is a change to evolve the midfield not build around physicality again
duo
On his day he's brilliant - was phenomenal for much of last season. He's been no where near those levels this season - for whatever the reason - head gone / etc - give Man U our price (£100mil) and if they pay it - bye Tonali. Would much rather he left than Bruno that is for sure.

Yeah this, even last season when he was class I remember making post on here saying his only weakness is that he gives the ball away a lot. I don't know if he has done it more this season or if its just been highlighted/noticed more because of how bad we have been but even though he hasn't been anywhere near as good this season he is still the exact same type of player he was. As long as we get a good price for him I wont be totally gutted about him leaving in the same way I would be if it was say Bruno or Hall.
