NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

At some point this nonsense must drive down wages and fees if foreign clubs /others can't rely on Premier league cash if price too high.

I would love us to just find a different way with bringing talent through and getting them early and let the big clubs crack on with spunking 50 million up the wall for utter shite players. Maybe even spend a decent amount on top talents occasionally to really take us to next level but building a talent pipeline would be better.

It's a shame we can't use all our money to just accelerate it all but then I think would feel a bit souless if just mop up all top players, Man City and Chelsea just plastic clubs at this point.

Yes it’s nicely to feel like we’re building a side gradually and it’s changing organically. I never expected us to be able to do a City/Chelsea but these current rules are absurd the way they’ve hamstrung us.

Looking at our squad the positive and exciting slant is we’re a few key signings from going to the next level again next season. A R CB with pace, a RW who can score goals and win games, a back up striker (the RW may cover this role too) and possibly another attacking midfielder who can open up defences. I just hope we get champions league again and are able to keep the big guns whatever happens because it feels like we’re back on track and the players must feel it too.

Im happy to currently “naturally” grow, a few seasons of regular European football and if we can grab a cup within the next 5 years I’m happy.

Yeah, it’s much better naturally building a side but no real signing in 3 windows is tedious and boring.

Starting to sound awfully brattish in here.

My comment was more about psr than at the club. I’ve no doubt they are doing their best. Absolutely can’t complain one bit about the recruitment so far

I’d just fund someone local, give them a load of money, call them a local businessman, then get them to sponsor the club.

The Saudi ambassador to the U.K. is married to a Geordie, get one of her family members to do it.

Yeah, that 80m loss will be the total lost including all current ongoing expenses including wages and the amortisation of previous purchases. I think we rack up around that much of losses without spending a

Last season the club turned a profit of about £20m, if you remove the sales of Minteh and Anderson that’s probably a £10m or so loss.

For that to become an £80m loss this season Kelly, Osula and the Greek must be on pretty big contracts!!! There aren’t any other new costs

Whilst the CL revenue will is out, adidas is in so revenue is probably around the same.

FWIW I think this month the issue will be player availability. In January you have to overpay and that will be kryptonite to the Board.

No. The club made a £71m operating loss last season with over £84m in player sale profits, making a £7m profit.

it’s at the top of this page. We are up against it unless we sell.

Key RW and CB targets are more likely attainable in summer I agree

If we’re allowed losses of around £84M this season and we have an operating loss of £70m before we consider Osula, Greek gk, new player contracts, agent fees etc.

No champions league revenue, we really don’t have a lot of cash (if any) for new players. I don’t think we’ll do any business this month. We will wait to summer and hope to get champions league. If we don’t get champions league we will likely have to sell a star player.

But we do have the adidas contract to calculate in for 24/25.

Interesting to see whether the champions league revenue is similar to the difference between adidas new revenue and Castore old revenue.

I still think we’ll have a bigger operating loss this year which will leave no room for new signings unless someone like Miggy or Longstaff go.

I dont want a repeat of last summer when we had to sell at the start of summer. I’d just prefer to sign no one in Jan.

It was mentioned yesterday Harvey Elliott (21) was looking to move on from Liverpool, I could honestly see Eddie shaping him to be quality, he could be the answer to the right midfield.

I'd also throw in Kubo, and Edon Zhegrova of Lille.

Of course. The Man City story has never once appealed to me and teams being prevented from doing what they did is pretty much fine with me.

... But the fact that NUFC is restricted from injecting hundreds of billions of Saudi wealth into buying the Premier League isn't the issue with PSR. The issue is that each competitor has unique restrictions (or lack of) placed upon them.
