On the sales they all look fine in isolation, but the squad is really thin. I didn’t go into January thinking this is a squad that can lose 3 players without impact - it’s not like Chelsea where they have 6 teams worth. Theres barely any cover and absolutely no scope for rotation. It impacts on the pitch.

We’ve been told time and time again. Even with Howe’s comments after miggy left he said it was needed because of PSR. We know why no signings have been made because we’ve been told why all window. Some like yourself clearly need it spelling out some more P S R

But what is our alternative less negligent strategy, given the money we can't spend? The only one I can think of is to do like Fulham and Palace (et al) do and have two average strikers instead of one good one.

 

But I wouldn't swap Osula and Isak for Jimenez and Munoz in a million years. The drop off is smaller but the ceiling is much lower.

I know what you're saying but by then we could have a Cup final win and be in the Champions league. It'd be worth it don't you think? Next season we're starting all over again. City stronger, possibly Spurs. Man Utd too.

So how do you explain the 60/70 mil we where going to spend on  marc guehi where did that go ?????.

 Quite simply. We'd have to sell the equivalent or more in players to comply with PSR this coming June.

Honestly, we need to sign up a few free transfers to pad out the squad, David for example would be a great Wilson replacement and even to play alongside Isak. 

 

If we need to get rid of a 40-50m player I’d be willing to let Joelinton go and even Botman at a push. 
 

If we got a 90m plus offer for Gordon or Bruno potentially would let go but would rather not. 
 

I wouldn’t even mind a Barcelona/Bayern type of move for a purple (not Isak or Tonali) if it means we get 3-4 players in exchange, eg Christiansen, Raphina, Tel etc
 

There are decent players going for 25m fees, Tomori, Danso for example. Even Khusanov would have been around the same. 
 

We definitley need to use more loans - especially in an attacking sense as the talent of game changers is low on the bench. Look to Saudi or the bigger clubs. Tel on loan would be good.

I’m not worrried about any top players going. All got good deals and if they do go, it’s for very big sums and football moves on. 
 

You then back the club structure to improve the squad as a result and then we have new stars to enjoy.

Like I’d rather lose a top star because a club has paid £100m (or OTT price), then lose one because we’ve made signings and had to accept a shit deal (like the rumoured Gordon nonsense with Gomez).

My concern is if we don't get CL next season - the likes of Isak, Bruno and Gordon will want away.  Feel this season is pivotal to our future.
