Dont fuck about in the summer, take a points deduction if we have to. I’m at that stage now.

It’s working quite well for Forest at the moment…

Im also not sure they can enforce any PSR breaches moving forward as 2 of those years contain illegal APT rules.

Spending to the point we do get a points deduction would be fucking about.

Sounds great with hindsight, but they were incredibly fortunate.

There’s some kind of narrative that Forest just went ‘fuck it’ and completely ignored PSR.

What actually happened is that they delayed the sale of Brennan Johnson until after the June deadline so they could get a better price for him. Not sure how much extra they got, maybe another 10-15m, but hardly enough to fund a massive spending spree.

They tried and failed to argue that as they were always going to sell him in that window, they should have been deemed compliant, but perhaps it did get them some mitigation.

The point I’m making is that if anyone thinks you can just fuck PSR off and overspend by £100m or whatever, then expect the same level of punishment as Forest, you’d be badly mistaken.

Im sure people think you can just spend an unlimited amount and face a minor points deduction

They'd hammer anyone who takes the piss massively with a huge points deduction

Thank you.

Don't know where this idea they just ignored PSR and did as they pleased came from.

The idea that we should then go ahead and do as we please is ridiculous.

They'd probably dock us 20 points or something incomprehensible.

No way they’d get away with that, take the hit for a season and have the squad ready for the year after.

Thing is, if you spent say 300M in 2025 and took the points hit in 2026, unless you raise a bunch of cash you take the same hit in 2027, right?

Why would they not get away with it?

The rules might be a steaming pile of shit, but as long as they remain the rules, then any team that completely and utterly ignores them will be absolutely hammered. Otherwise you’ve just got total anarchy.

Spend £300m and it won’t be a ‘points hit’, it’ll be a ‘relegation hit’.

Is Adam Wharton a realistic signing? Obviously Crystal Palace are a nightmare to deal with but Howe would make him world class

Probably not for the price they'd want.

Based on Guehi last summer, not a chance. The time to sign him was when he was at Blackburn.

Serious question, when was the last time someone was straight up relegated as a punishment for a violation?

By the way, I think it's daft to try anything of the sort.

It happened to Juve about 15 years ago.

Someone got relegated from La Liga more recently than that. I want to say Elche or Eibar.

Whatever we do, let's just hope the club can get their business done quickly and efficiently.  No more fucking about for months on end when it is obvious the deal won't happen, like with the Guehi saga.
