NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

Delap would be a great addition at a bargain price in the market nowadays.

Would offer us a targetman that can run the channels and knows where the net is.

If we come up against certain opposition that Isak struggles against he could gain us points where we would normally go onto lose.

Any takers?

Dortmund fans in twitter are quite confident that it's an "our of league" kind signing for us  & not happening according to most of them.

It's probably the lead due to which the kobel rumour was generated.

But he is left footed aswell, it's probably not that much of a issue like we tend to make here.

We don't know that though?

He may of left city to get more of a chance to get some gametime.

And an avenue to the starting lineup more often he'd get that here.

There’s absolutely zero chance he goes anywhere where he isn’t expecting to start 95% of games. I’ll take a three month posting ban if he ends up benched more than ten times next season when fully fit

Delap’s not going anywhere to be a bit part player, he’s going somewhere to start every game

He can’t expect a move to a European club and demand to start every game. Literally no club can offer that.

dont think we keep Isak for more than next season despite how we do so I can see him bedding in for a year then leading the line. A situation he may well accept if the other choices are also being a squad player for a consistent period at other clubs who he may go to

I feel as though you have a regular habit of judging players solely off just one game (usually against us)

It’s usually the only time I see these players in my defence unless they are playing in a major tournament or the KO stages of a Cup competition and it’s not as if I’m ever far off the mark. Happy to caveat the fact though and to be also proven wrong over the long run.

I mainly just pass my thoughts when topical. I also think it’s a good barometer when up against your own team. From what little I’ve seen of him he looks a bit of hype job.

Anyone can watch someone loads and have an assessment. Does there have to be a specific amount of games to pass an opinion?Much braver to go that bit earlier

No but usually more than 1 game.

he's scored 12 goals in his debut season for a struggling club. Probably worth assessing him over a number of games rather than just one. Not like he's playing in some obscure league where you can't watch him regularly

Why does it matter if both centre backs are left footed? I know we'd naturally like the balance of a right and a left footed player, but some of the best CB partnerships in my lifetime have both been right footers.

That’s not to be knocked, though you’d hope he would if he’s your main man and paid I’m guessing close to if not your club record fee on him whilst also taking penalties (?)

You also seemed to overlook that I share the opinions of a half dozen Ipswich fans who I’m guessing have seen him more than us both and they all thought Hutchinson was the better player.

Will be interesting to see his next move if they cash in and how he develops. Just not sure I see him fitting our system on that performance and the fans wouldn’t have his diving.

I take it you rate him very highly? Where do you see him going?

Hutchinson is a right winger/attacking mid though not a striker.

He was definitely their best player when they got promoted last year, but hasn't really done it this season when fit.

If Isak goes, I'd be hoping for someone better than Delap to be his eventually replacement.

I've not said I rate him very highly, I just said it's not wise to judge him off one game as you seem to do regularly. Plenty of Prem games on the telly to watch him

I've said for a while I can't see him going anywhere to be second choice.

As for Hutchinson he doesn't even play in the same position as Delap

Allegiances aside, would you rather go to Man Utd and start 95% of games or come here and play in 95% of games.

It’s easy to look at the negatives and think he won’t join because he’ll not start every game but what about the positives? He’ll be coming into a trophy winning, (probably) champions league club with a really good young team who are managed by one of the best in the world. The manager plays extremely striker friendly football and he can be a big part in our almost guaranteed future success.

The ultimate bottom line here is that if we want to go to the top we’ll need to start convincing good players to join even if they won’t start every game, because that’s what the bigger clubs do. We need as good a squad as possible if we’re in Europe and attacking the domestic cups every year, so deliberately buying dedicated “back ups” won’t help.

Never once said it was particularly wise or seek any great attention from my observations. I’ve just passed an opinion from the little I’ve seen of him. I’ll pass another the next time I see him play. Watching Ipswich not on my list of priorities, got a wide range of interests and friends to keep me busy

Might do him good to show a bit loyalty and stay with Ipswich for a year.

Again not a player I know. Just passing on thoughts of those that follow their team home and away.

So you have a great track record of judging if players are any good or not, based on watching them once?!

The thoughts that an attacking midfielder/wide man is better than their number 9? Not really sure how the two are related. Hirst is their back up striker.

If we’re talking anecdotally and using your 6 Ipswich fans as a guide. I know plenty of Ipswich fans round here (50 minutes from me) and they’ve all raved about Delap from early on. Think it seemed for a while that he’s too good for them. Especially if they went down. Which they obviously have.

Not necessarily once no. I’ve seen Delap more than once. I’ve seen him once against us. My judgement is always out there for others to read and judge wether it be right or wrong but usually find myself on the right side of history.

Its taken most if not all of the forum 3 if not more years to see what I saw in Murphy all along ;)

(It might of been Hirst now you mention it regarding Delap as it definitely began with an H and said it was his alternative option)

As well as making a judgement call on players based on one game against us. Have you always blown smoke up your own arse and all? Can’t say I’ve ever noticed either on here

Murphy you were apparently ahead of the game on. I’ll take your word for it. Any other examples oh wise scouting sage?

I feel like you’re one step away from going full TCD and telling us all that you know ball and we don’t
