I don’t think Guehi has ever had any intention of signing a new deal. If we make Champions League, having also won a cup ourselves then you’d be a fool to stay at Palace, even if they had won the FA Cup.

I’m not saying he wouldn’t want to join, I’m saying it will make it more difficult and more expensive for Parish to do a deal.

Guehi is leaving regardless and I’m sure Eze still has a release clause. Both I can see going, with Wharton in 2026.

Agreed, I'd just be inclined to find someone else this summer and then go for Guehi next. That way no money for Palace/Parish.

I'd rather just spend the money on Guehi this summer if that's who Howe really wants. Else what are we going to do, just spend that same money on someone else anyway, seems pointless. £40M is very decent if that's what we end up paying.

 

Also the usual twitter nonsense going about that Eze wants out this summer and we're interested. Don't see how he fits in with us tbh, can file that under the "may as well add Newcastles name to this list of clubs to pad it out a little".

I think we’ll be looking at kluivert, Jacob Ramsey, DCL & the winger from Celtic as well as the likes of Trafford, Guehi, Mbuemo etc. we’ve got to be very clever with what we have spend wise and I think we will be.

There's definitely going to be at least one "out of nowhere" signing and I'm not talking about youth players or guys who will go straight out on loan (like Minteh). But I'm talking some random CM plucked from a lower league Dutch side or something.
