Looks like a Sandro regen. Lots of recoveries, great passing range and super comfy on the ball.

That was the main reason for the question - Is he a Sandro replacement or something different. Sounds like the former.

But is he tall more importantly?

Worrying, like very. Not that hes going to say we will try and sell Wissa.

I genuinely think they're all staying as I don't see anyone coming in for Wissa or Woltemade for any kind of fee that makes sense.

Probably would have looked at a younger striker if Osula had left, but he's stepped up recently and is more likely to stay and be given much more opportunities to play next season challenging Wissa.

Ideally, I think they should be cutting their losses with Wissa and going and getting another number 1 guy, but I'm not sure they will.

20m seems low?

They'll be in the Champo again next season and he is going into the final year of his contract this summer.

All reports are saying we will buy a new one, so who knows. That said its criminal how little we have got out of Wissa. Might be the player himself of course but you dont score 20 goals if you are a bad player.

Are we OK with English players if they're not from the Prem?

For those kind of fees I'd imagine most would be.

I think Wissa could definitely bounce back, but the fact he's away at the World Cup this summer is a nuisance, and makes that less likely I think. And so would just move on tbh.

I think it could work in our favour - if he has a good world cup, he gets some confidence back and it'll be great for his fitness. There's the obvious fatigue issue but he should be fresher than most

Yeah, maybe. Ideally though he would have been at Newcastle going through a full pre-season to get him ready to play in an Eddie Howe side upfront.

Eddie Howe suggested Newcastle will not be in the market for a striker this summer.

Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade both arrived for big money last summer following the departure of Alexander Isak, but have struggled to replicate the Sweden international’s impact.

But asked if a centre-forward is on the list of priorities this summer, the Newcastle boss said: “Certainly not at the moment, because in terms of the striker numbers we’ve got, we’ve got healthy numbers in that position.

“I’d say it’s been a challenge for us, trying to find the right balance, trying to find a way to continually score goals and create the amount of chances that we want to. I don’t think we’re quite there yet.

“I think we’ve got work to do in that area but obviously Yoane (Wissa) has had fitness struggles, Will Osula has really grown late into the season and I think he’s done really well in recent games, of course Anthony (Gordon) has played there, Nick (Woltemade) has played there and done well earlier in the season.

“I think the players are there, we’ve just got to try and bring it all together and make it work.”

I’m shocked.

Yeah like the issue isn't English players, it's high fees and high wages for players who do not move the needle.

If they were cheaper they probably wouldn't need to move the needle as such, but for the prices paid last summer they absolutely had to be.

More players in the 20m bracket would mostly be fine even if aren't rip-roaring success stories. It's the combination of expense and performances not justifying the expense.

Tuttomercato reports that in January, Newcastle made an offer of 16 million euros for Brooke Norton-Cuffy of Genoa, but the club's management rejected the proposal.

Of course. They can’t be premier league proven if they haven’t played in the premier league.

Well he looks absolutely mint . Seriously though, for a 20 year old keeper he looks like he can do the lot in that video - sweeping up outside his box, he's massive, passes out well off both feet, as well as some great saves. Oh and scores penalties, most importantly

We given I can only ever watch 20 seconds of those videos, from what I saw he can stand upright, walk around a bit AND do this while holding a ball. I'm sold.
