Who is everyone's top replacement for Tonali?

Someone who we're linked with who I know very little about, followed by loads of posts about how we'll never get him, then we do.

Him.

No thanks I'm driving.

Yeah someone like that, but where it's all done and dusted immediately before the cartel can react.

Sorry thought you meant originally a name you knew but couldn't say.

Don't think smit is a good tonali replacement in that hes described as box to box and not sure Bruno after his scoring exploits of last season wants to sit deep.

A proper DM would be preferred but I like a few others watched camara last night and didn't seem to be sitting as a DM but more of a floater just over the half way line looking to dictate play which didn't work.

Ok catch me up, is there any particular reason people seem convinced Tonali is leaving? Or is it just accelerated idle talk.

Pasta noodle plus multiple journos now saying spurs will bid arsenal and city "monitoring"

Those reports haven't found their way to the Gnocchi Gnonce by accident and he wouldn't broadcast them unless he was paid to do so by Tonali's agent.

Either Tonali instructed his agent to get him a move or his agent is suggesting a move and Tonali has signed off on it.

Victor Froholdt. Basically a younger version of Tonali with a higher ceiling. Player of the year in Portugal in his first season.

Virtually every journalist saying several clubs interested in Tonali

Multiple sources saying his agent has been pushing for a move since January

Multiple reports for the last few months we may sell a few big players (eg Gordon , Tonali and Tino)

Tonali seems to be the one gathering the most interest / pace

If their monitoring is anything like ours we've nothing to be concerned about

It was Camara before I read the reports of his game yesterday.

Honestly though I've never watched him for a single minute of football, I have no clue what sort of a player he is.

Lol same. Watched him and thought 'not on this performance', but thankfully I'm not a professional scout

I only had the France match on in the background last night so can't really comment on Camaras performance.

I did look at the line ups when they were announced though and he was down as playing right midfield in a 4231. Is that where he actually played?

I thought he was a DM or an 8?

If so maybe that's why he was crap.

Dunno how accurate but I was told we tried hard to get Smit in January. Doesn’t exactly chime with the Rayan chat indicating we didn’t have the money but if it’s true, I wouldn’t be surprised to see us go aggressively for him again.

Aye played RCM and the game largely passed him by tbh.

Strange how everything just went silent around him.

That's literally the transfer strategy that has been described by the club so if we're in dreamland, so are they.

What is literally the transfer strategy which has been described by the club?

Baturina supposedly linked with us last year, who anyone could see was what we were missing and an absolute snip at 16million pounds, just scored a world or and is worth 50mil and rising. Too risky. This aversion to change is what worries me with Howe however grateful I am, and I think a statue with sir Bobby is warranted for the silverware, relegation escape, leadership and return to Europe.
