Obviously, if hes able to be coached to another level that may be different but I just don’t think his feet and balance look top level. We can go back and forth over whether we should have known about Tonali and his gambling but the ban is why that move hasn't worked out (yet). Barnes picked up an injury after a handful of games. So the "lesson" we can learn from two of the three is what? Avoid gambling addicts and don't let them get injured? I do see what you're saying, the choice was quantity or quality, we went for the latter and we are seeing the negatives of that approach. However, I don't think you can say we got three transfers "wrong" within six months of them signing, when two of them have hardly played through no fault of the club or it's recruitment strategy. We have to take them at their word when they said this has to be a project - we aren't looking just at the season ahead, we're trying to build a squad of top quality and we aren't going to do that in one or two windows. Seriously though - the profile of player we have been linked too recently are Howe-ball specialists. I think Onana is a Howe signing for sure. At least it seems his job is safe. Personally - I don't like the idea of signing so many players that are specific to a manager's profile atp. This is why phillips would be the better option, he has that passing and dribbling (more body use/sheltering ball) ability to get out of tricky situations...
