I’m sure if it was just down to money PIF could guarantee him a lucrative move later in his career, I’d only be concerned if Barca, or Madrid come knocking.

Yes I think he’ll go abroad personally and there was the assertion that we’d be less likely to sell to another premier league team to avoid strengthening them.

Sounds like the journos just played to the audiences priors - they say stuff they know the audience will nod along to.

Same for Delap, can’t say he’s moving for the money until you know who he signs for. They say stuff like that as the fans like to hear that any player who isn’t coming is greedy vs having football reasons

Gordon checking out last summer makes a lot of sense. Was it us who offered him to Liverpool or did he make some noises about leaving beforehand? I don't think he's done himself any favours this season and I'd be surprised if Liverpool were still interested tbh.

Tbf he’s been decent at times. Has looked poor since his sending off and the injury on international duty and grown out that daft barnet. I’m sure he’ll find himself.

Ornstein reckons we offered him to Liverpool before we sold Minteh/Anderson. Makes a lot of sense to be fair, he's not been right a lot of the season.

They wouldn't be able to offer him that at all in fairness - what if he's injured or loses form etc?

He'll head off to a European giant at some point - it is the 'links' to the likes of Arsenal that are laughable

I'm not so sure. He signed a new contract and started to play himself into a bit of form, before the red card, etc.

Don't think he took not getting into the England eleven too well either.

Is Douglas saying we’ll spend in excess of 250m?

That woman who supports Man United (Alice? The one who has a soft spot for us) was supposedly quoting him saying this in her latest video.

Wondering if anyone has seen this or if our resident PSR nerds could give some actual insight.

He’s also been figured out to an extent. Back off and show him the line and he’s not likely to hurt you. Goes for all 3 of our wingers in truth.

With Isak out or not functioning at 100% there was more responsibility on them to step up, and none of them did really. You could argue that Lewis Hall being out has not helped Gordon or Barnes as he would normally provide the overlap, but on Sunday Livramento was doing that great, but Gordon in particular was poor. Likewise Barnes and Murphy produced fuck all from the other side.

I get that against a low block it's difficult, but we struggle with this every time. That's the missing element from our wide players, the extra quality to unlock a well organised defence.

Luke Baldwards saying last night he’d been told/made aware (I know I know 😂) that we couldn’t spend 60m on 4 players. Make of that what you will. Douglas was sat next to him and didn’t saying anything I don’t rmemebr.

Totally agree, we don’t have anyone who can pull something out of their arsenal against a tight defence.

Fairly sure we’re at the stage of his career where the story’s being written by George R R Martin

Like 60m in total? 15m per player?

I reckon Sunderland could spend more than that.

Why does 'Luke Baldwards' never fail to make me smile [emoji38]  petty and childish as fuck, and I'm here for it [emoji38][emoji38]

Newcastle close to early signing? - Bold claims from Spanish journalist on £21m man | NUFC Blog

Roberto Melendon

@Melendon1

HORAS CLAVES Joan Garcia da el visto bueno al #Newcastle, ahora agente y club negocian.

En los próximos días se podría hacer oficial.

Would be a very exciting start if true the bloke is almost a one man wall at times

Looks like a much more capable Spanish Pickford
