We need players that are ready to come in and compete at the highest level. We don't really have the set up to develop young talent and polish rough diamonds to be frank. Like a Bruno or Schar (admittedly he was here before Howe), but players with potential that would fit our system, and over time become crucial cogs in the machine at a price point we can afford. Not sure we have the funds or the clout right now to consistenly attract players who shift the dial immediately. Thiaw has thus far, the rest of our summer signings not so as yet. Not to be pedantic but neither of those players were really lesser known. (Both full internationals). I think your asking us to try and spend less on some squad fillers? It's obviously a balancing act right and a very difficult one. I think it's pretty obvious Eddie has specific requirements when it comes to players and he obviously holds a significant amount of sway when it comes to the club.
