TaylorJ_01
I don't know if he offers much you don't get with Martinelli. Similarly frustrating but talented players. Is maybe more a Trossard replacement since he's 31 I guess. I just can't imagine Gordon starting for the league champions.
trx345
Man City have had best recruitment policy for last 15+ years. Part of that is buying well in January. Never understand why we, or even all clubs are so reactive in the window. Fairs does Johnson into Palace early. Semenyo into City is classic City. As a club, we need to cut the rumours and likes of Craig Hope jabbering on for weeks right out - and act quickly and just get it done. City last January signed 4/5 players - just got it done. Not asking Newcastle to sign that level of player - just try and operate on that level. Be clinical and get it done. My prediction - we don't sign a soul. Osula out on loan. Thought I read that. They always choke.

There was also that winger that was playing week in week out at 18 for Malaga in Spanish 2nd League that Real Madrid wanted - now? That crafty Asian that played in pre-season? Just want minutes from these type of players - Alex Murphy, Neave, Scahar. Fair does if they are shit, but unsustainable needing every first team player being a 30-70M signing like Howe seems to want. The Georgian, Vakhtang Salia, got injured almost as soon as he arrived but should be nearing a return. https://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2025/11/20/vakhtang-salia-disaster-now-explained-after-newcastle-united-transfer/

Claimed it would have even happened last summer, if not for all of the drama around the Isak move, which they thought would hamper/complicate any move for Gordon. Semenyo, Gordon or Rodrygo were apparently the options they were looking at. Semenyo has now joined Man City and Rodrygo can't seem to make his mind up about leaving real Madrid. May well happen this one. Think I'd be glad for him tbh. Needs to leave Newcastle asap for the good of his career. Funny that league leading Arsenal are more than happy to take him, while he's being hounded out of Newcastle. Can't wait to see who his replacement will be

trx345
If we lose Gordon - who do we replace him with? We are not in the market of getting a better player than the one we are wanted to sell. Semenyo just went to City - who do we replace Gordon with? Tripps to Bayern 2024 We are not in the market of getting a better player than the one we are wanted to sell. Sibierski
I could understand why Arteta would be keen. Been the main threat and annoyance against Arsenal when we’ve played them and he’ll see it as an upgrade on what they’ve got with room to go further (that bit I’m unsure on because his finishing is never going to improve it feels). He’s replaceable based on past 12 months, but it’s the work rate and application we lose, along with him being in the prime age group 23-27 and the connotations of losing yet another first team regular to the top sides. Be all fine if we were replacing with semi-raw players and accepting that as our position, but if spaffed money on more middle range players it would be a kicker. I'm just not sure what kind of environment you expect these players to perform their best in, but I know it's not the current one that is building around certain players in particular, and probably the manager and club in general. Listen, I hope we do sell him. It would be fascinating to see how it all plays out if nothing else.

Our strongest factor is Eddie Howe, our weakest factor is the mess that's happened past years with Ashworth, Mitchell etc. Man City had Soriano - Txiki B - then Pep We've been working Howe dictating up - that's not a way to run a business Edited January 15 by trx345
